VASA (Voluntary Action South Ayrshire) are delighted to invite the Girvan community to the reopening of the Girvan Food Pantry on Thursday, 22 October from 12-4pm.

If you've used the pantry before, are new to the area, or simply want to find out more about what’s available, come along and have a look around!

DESTINATION SOUTH AYRSHIRE FUND NOW OPEN
Destination South Ayrshire have a limited fund from Coastal Communities available for grants to be awarded to established community groups, businesses, charities and organisations (excluding schools and parent councils) looking to carry out events and initiatives from 23rd October 2026 to the 31st March 2027. Proposals will require to prove the value to the visitor economy and or the benefit to the community.
Eligibility for funding will depend on the nature of activities that you are engaged in and the type and scale of the proposed event and or initiative. There are two categories of grants - up to £1,000 and between £1,000- £4,950.
Your event and or initiative must be taking place between 23rd October 2026 and 31st March April 2027, and your application must be submitted by midday on Wednesday 14th October 2026.

Give a Dog a Bone Troon - Trustee Required
Give a Dog a Bone… and an animal a home’ is a registered charity (SC044440), founded in 2013. We currently seek to expand our Board members, to support future growth.
They are a unique and award-winning charity, tackling loneliness for older adults via animal companionship and friendship. In order to meet their aims, they offer two distinct projects:
Financial support to the over 60s to adopt a rescue pet companion. It’s a WIN/WIN – the person gets a friend and the animal gets a home. This project is UK wide.
‘Companionship in the Community’ operating four community spaces in Scotland: Shawlands, Troon, Alloa and Dunfermline, which provide older adults a safe space to make new friends, learn new skills and mix with our special team of Companionship Dogs.

The 2026/2027 Coastal Communities Fund is now open for applications for third sector groups and organisations.
Applications should demonstrate tangible benefits to the economy, safety, health and wellbeing of Coastal Communities. Groups can apply for either capital or revenue costs.
The total fund available is £90,000 for development grant for applications up to £15,000.
