Whiteleys Retreat is an Ayrshire based charity, located within a 30 acre estate in Alloway. The charity provides vital respite through therapeutic breaks and extended support for children, young people and their families with cancer or a life altering illness.

Lovely to welcome Isla, her parents and therapy dog Zea from Edinburgh to stay for respite last week. They had a great time exploring Ayrshire and all the beauty on our doorstep. Isla especially loved our beach wheelchairs. ♿️

“The beach wheelchairs were a hit as meant we could walk and get to play with our therapy dog on the beach - brought the biggest smile to our daughter’s face. Isla was just out of hospital again. Staying here gave us the break from routine which means we were all forced to relax and chill instead of trying to cram ‘normal’ duties around caring responsibilities” Mum 💛

The lovely McConville family joined us this week for some much needed respite. They thoroughly enjoyed their visit from Inca, our therapet visitor, (thank you Catherine Ness). And their visit to the Kitty Kat cafe in Ayr. The girls have also given our pony a new nickname ‘ wee jiggy ‘ 💫🫶🏽💫🫶🏽

“Coming to Whiteleys gives us all some space and downtime. It definitely helps us recharge and feel more capable of coping. Having the time away from reality gives us all the chance to relax and have some much needed downtime away from hospital visits and phone calls.” Emma (Mum).

A huge thank you to David Semple who has raised £1000 for Whiteleys Retreat. David has a passion for collecting lost golf balls that he finds on various courses and after cleaning them up, he bags them up and sells them to friends.

David chose to donate the money he raised to Whiteleys and we couldn't be more grateful. ❤️⛳️🙏
