Ayr yacht and cruising club had some dredging work carried out yesterday. This was necessary due to the river silting up, making it difficult for boats to access the river. The last time we had work done by the dredger was 2021. But that time it was a much bigger job as we had to separate all the pontoons and remove them to allow the dredger to clear the bottom in between the pontoons . It is very expensive to carry out out this type of work. However we were very fortunate to get a grant from South Ayrshire Council this time, which we very much appreciate.
