With You

With You 1 in 3 people are affected by a loved one’s drug and/or alcohol use.

We strive to empower whole communities using an evidence based programme to give people the tools they need to cope with their loved ones' substance use and to enrich their own lives. Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) is an evidence based programme to give people the tools they need to cope with a loved one's substance use and to enrich their own lives. The three main aims of thi

s approach are:

- Reduce loved one's substance use
- Support love one into treatment
- Improve the functioning of the family member

CRAFT is delivered through 8 sessions with a trained family worker focusing on specific topics, such as:

- positive communication
- boundaries
- positive reinforcement
- reducing enabling behaviours
- self care

Peer workers and volunteers are also in the process of being CRAFT trained and support is available from them through group work and on an ongoing basis.

Turns out Jude Bellingham fans are hard to find in Scotland, despite his World Cup heroics. 😂
So the Scotland Senior Football Team had to call in reinforcements from south of the border to shift raffle tickets for an England shirt signed by the Real Madrid star, donated by his dad Mark.
It worked. The shirt, donated at an over-50s international football tournament in Largs, Ayrshire, helped raise hundreds.
Mark played in the Four Nations tournament himself and finished as top scorer, on top of being generous enough to hand over the shirt.
Thank you to Scotland Seniors for donating £500 of the proceeds to WithYou, and to everyone who bought tickets. Every one of them made a difference ⚽💙

Jamie's childhood was shaped by instability, care homes and neglect. He started using substances at just five years old. By his twenties, drug dependency and the justice system had taken over his life.

Today, he's in recovery, settled and using everything he's been through to help others do the same. His journey has been a process of self-discovery and working hard to address the root causes of his drug use, trauma and mental health.

Jamie now volunteers with the Hepatits c trust, Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) and WithYou in North Somerset, supporting people in the criminal justice system with complex needs. He even came face to face with his former probation officer, this time as someone helping others through the system rather than someone in it.

His message to others is simple. Support is out there. 💙

This World Hepatitis Day, we're proud to be part of the global movement to eliminate hepatitis C. 💪

Hepatitis B and hepatitis C can cause serious liver damage, but with greater awareness, testing and treatment, we can change that. Hepatitis is spread through blood or bodily fluids, and doesn't just impact people who use drugs. The reality is that it can affect anyone.

Knowing your status is one of the most important steps you can take. If you think you've been at risk, testing for hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV is quick, free and available through all drug support services. You can also order a free home testing kit from the NHS.

Treatment has come a long way over recent years and hepatitis C can now be cured with a short course of tablets that have minimal side effects.

Together, we can break the stigma, encourage more people to get tested, and take another step towards eliminating hepatitis C.

Ahead of World Hepatitis Day tomorrow, we've some really positive news to share from our Shropshire service 💙

For two years now, our team has worked hard to reduce hepatitis C in the local community. Thanks to our dedicated nurses and staff, we've now reached two years of hepatitis C micro-elimination, meaning rates locally have dropped to a very low level.

For those who may not know, hepatitis C is a virus spread through blood that can cause serious liver problems over time if it isn't treated. The encouraging news is that treatment works. Over 95% of people who receive it are cured completely.

This achievement wouldn't have been possible without our brilliant staff and the support of our partners, The Hepatitis C Trust and Gilead Sciences. If you or a loved one have any concerns about hepatitis C, please reach out to your GP or local drug and alcohol service. Early testing and treatment make all the difference.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey 🙏

Big shout out to our fantastic WithYou (in South Ayrshire) team who travelled to Stirling on Friday for the Recovery Olympics, a day of sport bringing together recovery communities from across Scotland.

Our team went in as reigning champions, but although the title moved on this year, they had an amazing day and can't wait to take part again next year.

Thank you to Forth Valley Recovery Community for hosting, and well done to everyone who took part and our team for representing WithYou so well.

A lapse or relapse doesn’t erase your progress.

Recovery isn’t a straight line. It’s a process of learning, adjusting, and continuing forward, even when things feel difficult.

Every step still counts. We're with you, every step of the way. 💙

Meet Marcia👋 As Service Administrator at WithYou in Dundee, Marcia manages data, handles reporting and keeps the systems running that recovery workers rely on every day.

It's an important role that quietly holds everything together.

But for Marcia, it's personal. She watched family members struggle with drugs and alcohol, and lost two relatives to overdoses. When the chance to volunteer came up in 2016, she took it, and never looked back.

"Dundee is an ever-changing landscape. Drugs change. Needs change. We've just tried to change with the times."

She's especially proud of Dundee's residential rehab pathway, which has supported more than 140 people on their recovery journey so far.

"It gives me a reason to get up in the morning. And to see people progress, to see them come back from rehab a different person, that's wonderful. It really is."

If you're in Dundee and looking for support with drugs or alcohol, Marcia and the team are here to help. Read more via the link in the comments. 💬
