UWS Film Society

27/03/2024

Hello everyone! A little update for you all... we're rebranding to UWS Film Society!

Our society will still be running Ayr Student Film Festival in autumn this year, but we will also be running events specifically for students within UWS.

The festival is organised primarily by students, so this renaming allows us to expand as a student society without unnecessarily using the ASFF name.

News about UFS events and ASFF 2024 coming soon, so stay tuned!

Thank you to everybody who came along on Saturday and congratulations to our winners!

All films submitted this year were incredible, and the judges had a tough task on the day, but in the end Pits from director Clark Allan came out on top

An excellent documentary, this was a well deserved winner on not only a technical front but also as an informative and entertaining short film

We hope you all had a fantastic time, and we're looking forward to arranging our next event. If you have any images or videos from the day, please send them to [email protected]

🎉 One more sleep to go! See our travel tips below to make sure you're well prepared for getting to the Ayr Town Hall for 1pm

⚠️ If you're traveling by train, the fire earlier this week has affected travel. Check with Scotrail for details on replacement bus services for the final leg of your journey

🚗 Any drivers, be aware there is not a lot of parking spaces immediately at the Town Hall. But have no fear, there is plenty of on-street parking on the surrounding streets within a 5 minute walk

🎥 The journey will be worth the effort as we show you six of the best short films produced by students and graduates, featuring comedy, drama, documentary and animation!

🎤 Plus a guest speaker, as Gary Hewitt runs down what to look out for on the film festival circuit and how to get your film seen by a wider audience

🍿 Networking, snacks, and good films; we'll have it all tomorrow Saturday 30th September, 1pm, Ayr Town Hall, £5 on the door, doors open to all!
