We will not be sharing our usual Feelgood Friday post today.

Today is the South Ayrshire Annual Flower Walk, a time for our community to come together to remember those we have lost to drug and alcohol use and su***de.

Through our work, we support many clients and families who have been affected by these issues, and we recognise how important it is to stand alongside our community, show our support and help raise awareness.

We’ll be taking time today to reflect, remember and support the message of hope, connection and recovery. πŸ’œπŸŒΈ

Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected.

🩡Ayr North through the years πŸ•°

As we have started sharing more and more photos from across Ayr North, it felt right to give the feature a name that reflects the whole area.

To start off we have 3 glimpses of places that many of us know very differently today:

The first is from the 40's showing the area that is now the Dalmilling golf course turning into a frozen curling rink.

The second shows an arial view of Dalmilling, giving us a chance to see how much the area has changed.

Third takes us above Whitletts and the James Brown Avenue area.

If you are interested in local history we have shared photos from around Wallacetown and Ayr North over the past 6 months, have a wee look back in the page. As always if you have an old photo tucked away or a memory of how things used to be we'd love to hear it!

The Wallacetown Hub🏠

Over the past couple of weeks we have had a few enquiries from local residents asking what exactly the Wallacetown Hub is and what is goes on in the building, so this is a perfect time to re-introduce the Hub and explain a bit more.

The Hub, at 37 George Street, is a community space which hosts a range of different groups, organisations and services all providing free to access support and opportunities for residents in the area.

I've attached the current time table for the second half of the year so you can see whats happening across the week, along with a photo inside the Hub so you can get a better idea of that space.

If you are interested in any more information around what each group can offer or would like an introduction to any of the groups, feel free to send us a message and we can link you in.

Importantly its not just for groups that are already here, if you are thinking about starting a local group or community project and are looking for somewhere to meet, please get in touch. The Hub is available as a free community venue and we'd love to see more local groups/ideas getting off the ground and have local people getting use of it!🩡
