As our Lifeworks families course that has been running this week is drawing to its closure, we are making the final preparations for the Lifeworks veterans employment support course in Aylesford here at the Royal British Veterans Enterprise village.
The course will be starting Monday morning 2nd March.
What’s included?

What is Lifeworks Families?

This employment programme has been designed for military families and aims to help with all aspects of an individual’s search and move into training and work. It is also a great source for Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) on how to achieve career goals, work on career direction and improve self-efficacy.

The programme, centered around a 4-day course, is extremely flexible and can adapt to the needs of any person on the programme, including existing work or childcare commitments.

All support is given by one of our highly experienced Tutors and Employment advisors, and Occupational Psychologists who will be able to help with any aspect of your job search.
What does the course cover?

The course covers all aspects of your move into training or work, and covers the following areas:
Employability skills:
CV Workshops
Effective job searching
Interview skills
Job applications
The hidden job market
Networking
Coaching:
Improving self-efficacy and building confidence
Understanding and managing change
Challenging limiting beliefs
Vocational assessment:
Working 1-2-1 with an Occupational Psychologist
Vocational assessments and career direction

Forward Assist
Lifeworks Families participants also receives 12 months of post-course support called ‘Forward Assist’. All those who use our Lifeworks Families programme have indefinite access to an Employability Coach and/or Occupational Assessor who can support you in any employment related aspect. Typically, this service provides help with CVs, replying to live job adverts and interview practice (sometimes over Skype/Teams).

Phil works as a Job Coach at Britain's Bravest Manufacturing Company, responsible for working with RBLI’s supported employees across the factory. A Royal Navy veteran himself, Phil served 23 and a half years in the military. When the global pandemic and the cost of living crisis hit, Phil needed to find work quickly, but wasn’t sure where to turn. It was then he discovered our FREE employment support programme for veterans.

“After seeing the Facebook ad everything happened very fast as I emailed the Lifeworks team who enrolled me on the course at Aylesford for the following week” Phil commented. “Having served for over 23 years in the Royal Navy you get used to routine and it’s hard without one.”

Many Armed Forces veterans leave the military with no knowledge of where to turn next. RBLI provide FREE employment support through our award-winning LifeWorks programme; with courses taking place in numerous locations across the UK. 💼✏️🤝

The team have been delivering vital employment support for veterans in Scotland, and today we warmly welcomed MP for East Kilbride Dr Lisa Cameron. As an MP, member of the Armed Forces Covenant APPG and a wife of a veteran herself, Dr Cameron recognises the importance of providing ongoing support to the Armed Forces community; in particular RBLI's mission to help veterans find meaningful and rewarding work in their post-service career.
