As promised, we said there were some big changes coming . . Introducing BTG Pantry!!! The Pantry will be replacing our weekly food bank, here at Bridge The Gap.
The pantry system allows for our guests to have more choice around the food and essentials they receive from us, as well as giving them more time to chat with our staff and volunteers. Having more choice will help our guests to feel more dignity and agency, whilst also having a positive impact on food waste.
The Pantry is set up to resemble supermarket aisles, the guests are provided with a shopping trolley and then guided around the 'shop' by a team member.
We had our first Pantry last Friday and we were so pleased with how it turned out!
Thank you so much to all of our incredible donors and funders who have made our work possible! Particular thanks to Aylesbury food bank who have been very accommodating and helpful with the changes to the deliveries we receive from them.
We are so grateful to be able to do what we do - and are so excited to see the impact of the Pantry on this community.
