Fantastic Friday was an ‘explosive’ finish to a brilliant week with Mento volcanos, a visit from Lighthouse Bear, the astronauties completing their quest to fight evil and spread love through the universe 👌❤️

We had an ‘After Party’ for our amazing young people who have been Lamplighters, Lighthouse Keepers, sport and craft team helpers this week. We are so grateful for their time, energy and commitment - we couldn’t do Lighthouse without them 👏❤️

What a week at Lighthouse Haddenham!

Picture it: a tent full of excited children, gallons of gunge, footballs flying in every direction, and more glitter than a Taylor Swift concert. The amazing volunteers who somehow pull it all together… and actually love it!

From the moment the tickets arrived, my two assistants were bouncing with excitement, desperate to run into those big white tents. And who can blame them? Theatre, live music, crafting, sports, bouncy obstacle course. Lighthouse has it all.

I spent a few hours with my camera trying to keep up – not easy when everywhere you look something hilarious is happening. Older kids helping younger ones with the kind of enthusiasm only youth provides. Glitter being applied to children, chairs, and at least one unsuspecting group leader. Footballs vanishing into hedges. Laughter echoing in every corner.

It’s no wonder the children sleep so well during Lighthouse week. They spend their days living their best lives, while parents quietly wonder if the glitter will ever come out of the carpet.

📸 I’ve tried to capture a slice of that chaos and magic in photos, which I hope show not just the fun but also the hard work, heart and imagination of the volunteers who make it all happen.

To every helper, leader and organiser: thank you. You’ve given our community a week bursting with joy, memories, and stories and songs the children will be repeating for months.

If your family was there, tag them below – let’s share the fun, the laughter one more time.

Thrilling Thursday featured mad hair and funny hats, gunge (of course!), craft and loads of laughter 😆
