NEW PRACTITIONER ANNOUNCEMENT!

We would like to give a warm welcome Hali Long, a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor - this is what she says...

Welcome, my name is Hali, a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor, drawing on different modalities of counselling, dependent on my client's needs. I am a registered member of the BACP — The British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy and also an Accredited Registrant member of the NCPS - National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society, and work within their ethical frameworks.
Working integratively as a counsellor, means that together, you and I can discover the type of therapy that works best for you. My main training is in Person-Centred work, which is a collaborative approach, where we work together. As a person-centred counsellor, through empathic understanding, honesty, acceptance and providing a space free of judgement, you as the client are encouraged to discover and explore your own capacity for personal growth and self-healing.
It may be that you are at a crossroads in life, in the midst of life changes, suffering a bereavement, experiencing grief/loss, depression/anxiety, or are feeling lost or depleted and not sure why. Person-centred counselling can help you to process and explore your feelings at your own pace, and as your counsellor, I can help you to make sense of your world and navigate a way forward. This is your safe space, where I will walk alongside you on your journey, to help you find clarity and acceptance.
I offer open-ended long and short-term therapy.

Hali Long – Dip. Couns. MBACP, MNCPS (Acc.)
Humanistic Integrative Counsellor

For many men, alcohol can become a way of coping with stress, pressure, anxiety or low mood. While it may bring a temporary sense of relief, research shows that regular or heavier drinking can disrupt sleep, increase anxiety, lower mood and make it harder to manage life's challenges over time.

The relationship between alcohol and mental health is rarely straightforward. Sometimes alcohol is used to cope with difficult emotions, yet it can also make those emotions feel more intense, creating a cycle that's difficult to recognise.

Alcohol Awareness Week offers an opportunity to pause and reflect. What role does alcohol play in your life? How might it be influencing your mood, your relationships, your work, or the way you respond to everyday situations?

Reaching out for support isn't about having all the answers. It's about starting a conversation that could lead to healthier ways of coping and a greater sense of wellbeing.

We would like to give a warm welcome to David Hunt, David will be starting a new Buddhist meditation class starting Wednesday 8th July. In his words...

Hi I'm David.
I'm a practicing lay Buddhist from the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism and I am starting a Buddhist meditation class at Axminster Wellbeing Centre!
I have been studying and practicing Buddhism for 8 years, the last 4 years of which have been at retreat centres and temples in the UK including Gaia House in Devon and Palpung Wales.
The Buddha taught a path that leads to a complete end of suffering and I will be structuring the classes around those teachings, drawing from all traditions of Buddhism. I have taken what are called Bodhisattva vows which means I have dedicated my life (and future lives) to help others to reach this goal, the end of suffering, sometimes called enlightenment. I will soon be qualified to teach meditation and very excited to begin teaching! Before I started meditating I had a lot of suffering in my life, an experience I'm sure we can all relate to. Meditation practice and studying Buddha's teachings radically changed my life for the better and I am now a much calmer, grounded and joyful person. I hope this will be your experience too!

The classes are best for beginner and intermediate students but all are of course welcome! All that is required is a little curiosity about the Buddha's teachings about the nature of suffering and a willingness to develop a meditation practice, inside and outside the class.

Let's meet philippa Sadler, one of our newest practitioners

🌿 Somatic Healing Therapist & Reiki Master 🌿

With a rich journey in Arts, Therapy, and Education (IATE London, 2008) and Humanistic Counselling (2017), I’ve integrated my Reiki path since 2011, becoming a Reiki Master in 2016. In 2023, I expanded my practice with NeuroAffective Touch, blending somatic therapy with developmental neuroscience.

My focus is on uniting traditional psychotherapy with holistic body and energy healing, supporting clients in reconnecting with their inner wisdom and harmonizing mind, body, and spirit. Healing is about presence, not fixing—it's remembering the vitality within.

If you're feeling disconnected, anxious, or carrying past trauma, know that healing unfolds in relationship, through care and attunement.

Let's explore this journey together. 🌟
