On Saturday night we held our Night Of Celebration for the 1976 Senior Championship winners. A huge thank you to everyone who came along, packed the room and made the night a great success. The stories, laughter and nostalgia on display were a brilliant reminder of what makes our club and community so special.
A sincere word of gratitude to our special guests and contributors who made the evening so memorable.
To the players and families of the various teams who were honoured on the night. Thank you for the incredible memories, the silverware, and the standard you set for Augher St. Macartan’s. It was an honour to have so many players and family representatives in the room.
A special thank you to our guests from Ardboe, Brian McIvor and Kevin Teague. Both spoke wonderfully of their memories of that day and the battles they had with Augher during those years.
Thank you to Tony Donnelly and Adrian Logan, our MCs for the night, who steered the ship brilliantly and kept everyone entertained.
Thank you to Martin Sludden, Tyrone County Chairman, for taking the time to join us and present the 1976 team with their commemorative awards.
To our hosts Canavans, who provided an excellent venue and service on the night and of course to Peter himself who recalled growing up and watching the great Augher teams.
Thank you to Dáire McConnell of DMC Digital Media who captured the nights event’s and whose photos we share with you in this post.
And last but by no means least, the organising committee especially deserve a great deal of thanks for the incredible amount of work they put in over the past few months. The media, displays, decorations and overall running of the night was only possible with this group’s special effort.
Nights like this show the true strength of our club spirit. Here’s to the champions of 1976 and the bright future of Augher St. Macartan’s!
