As I started my military career in the Royal Air Force, the Kilt I wear on many occasions is the RAF Tartan, a very nice blue colour.
On a recent Regiment Reunion Dinner there was an RAF Piper invited as a guest, who advised me the meaning of the Kilt colour / pattern
The Blue - is for the Sky
The White - is for Clouds
The Red - is for those lost in battle or who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

It is with great sadness that I need to share the death of Flt Lt Barbour. He was the the OC of 571 Cupar Sqn taking it from a Detached Flight of Auchtermuchty to Cupar Squadron. Before a lengthy illness.

The family of the late Euan Barbour have asked if we can post the following:

BARBOUR
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Euan Barbour in the early hours of 7th November 2025, he was aged 72 years. He passed away peacefully with his beloved wife Eleanor and his devoted daughter Naomi by his side in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. He was a loved brother of Kenneth, Graham and the late Forbes, also a dear brother-in-law, uncle and a good friend to many. Funeral service on Thursday 20th November in Cupar Old Parish Church at 12:30 followed by interment at Cupar Cemetery at 1:30. To which all family and friends are respectfully invited. Donations may be made at church doors towards Ward 6, Ninewells Hospital.

Today we had cadets at local Remembrance Parades at Strathmiglo, Auchtermuchty and Newburgh who then joined our main unit attending the Auchtermuchty Parade.

Cadets from Central Scotland Wing and 2163 Auchtermuchty Sqn BBMF Mini flight took a trip RAF Coningsby where we were sponsored by the BBMF. We had a great time at 29 Sqn being shown around a RAF Typoon. They had a tour around the hanger with some of the aircrew, finishing the day with a trip in the newly restored BBMF Dakota. Saturday saw us return to RAF Coningsby to support the BBMF at their Airshow for their supporters. This included a tour around the Lancaster before either goes in to its maintenance phase.
