We’ve recently welcomed siblings Bradley, Bobby and Glennty to the North West - and they've all settled really well!

Bradley, Bobby and Glennty have all gone to homes with older guide dog puppies, who have all shown them the best napping spots in their new home 🏠

Welcome to the team, Dixie!

After spending a brilliant year with her puppy raisers in Staffordshire, Dixie has moved on to start her formal guide dog training with the team in Atherton.

She looks like she's settling in really well 😊

A group of puppy raisers recently came to visit our North West Regional Centre, to prepare their pups for when they start their training.

The group got to see the training space, where the dogs relax and play, and meet our amazing team.

It’s all thanks to our amazing volunteers that we’re able to create life-changing guide dog partnerships – thank you.

Congratulations on another new partnership - Becky and Elizabeth ❤️

This is Becky's second guide dog, following Rishton - a beautiful boy who captured everyone's hearts. Becky said: "I didn’t need a dog that took Rishton's place, I needed one that would wheedle their way in and make their own place - and she’s done just that".

Becky was trained by Jess who she called: "brilliant... and a brilliant cheerleader throughout".

Congrats Becky, wishing you lots of happy years and adventures together 🐾

Meet our Academy Guide Dog Trainers - Mary, Nat and Katie!

The trio started at our centre in Atherton in October, and after a few months of learning, now have their first dogs to train 🐾

After a couple of years they will become qualified GDTs, teaching our dogs the skills they need to become life-changing guide dogs.

Six puppies. One incredible partnership 🐾

Guide dog puppies Milo, Reggie, Luna, Dobbie, Ralph and Boris are all proudly named thanks to the ongoing support from Procurement Hub.

Since 2020, Procurement Hub has raised more than £87,000 to help support people with sight loss, enough to cover the cost of breeding, raising and training a life-changing guide dog 🦮

The Procurement Hub team has also completed Guide Dogs’ sighted guide training, gaining hands-on experience in how to safely support people with sight loss and learning more about accessibility, inclusion and independence.

With two of the named pups already working as guide dogs, and four more still on their journeys, this partnership is already making a real difference, and we’re thrilled to be continuing our work together for another year.
