This National Cadet Week, we’re celebrating all of the incredible young people who give their time, energy and commitment to St John Ambulance.

Being a cadet is about so much more than learning first aid. It’s about building confidence, developing leadership skills, supporting others, making new friends and becoming part of a community that makes a difference. 🚑

From learning lifesaving skills to volunteering at events and supporting our communities, our cadets continue to show just how much young people can achieve.

A huge thank you to every cadet, volunteer and leader who makes our cadet programme so special. Your dedication, compassion and willingness to help others truly matters. 💚

Part 2 - Casulty simulation! 🎭🚑

Our cadets have been getting creative with casualty simulation, learning how to create realistic simulated injuries and scenarios to support first aid training.

These activities give cadets the opportunity to develop their confidence and understanding while helping fellow cadets and volunteers practise their first aid skills in a safe and controlled environment.

Hello all!

On the 25th of July, 1pm-4pm we will be running an event to help raise funds for the church, the event will be held at Saint Michael and All Angels, Howe bridge, Atherton, M46 0PH

There will be a wide variety of activities on offer, such as:

•A first aid demonstration from the St John Ambulance Cadets - Atherton.

•A stand selling a small variety of crochet goods such as hair ties, bags and pouches made by one of our cadets

•Arts and crafts which will be rock painting for younger children! (We are asking for a minimum two pound donation ☺️).

•Soft darts archery, and games for younger individuals.

•A bake sale and refreshments for all (With a small charge), which will be held inside the church.

•And a table top sale, where there will be a variety of clothing, and objects.

We are also asking if you could please spread the word! We are really looking forward to this event and we hope you are too 😊

Tonight at Bolton Lads and Girls Club, Cadet Lewis delivered CPR training covering infants, children and adults, alongside choking procedures for all three age categories.

This was a fantastic opportunity to build confidence, improve lifesaving skills and practise important emergency first aid techniques in realistic scenarios. Well done to everyone who took part and got involved throughout the session!

Tonight at cadets, our members completed their Basic First Aid training and learned vital lifesaving skills including how to recognise and respond to angina, strokes, heart attacks, and choking incidents.

Our cadets worked hard throughout the session, building confidence and learning how to act quickly in emergency situations. We’re proud to see them developing skills that could one day help save a life!

Yesterday, Our cadets got to experience building and trying out a new telescope! We are looking forward to using this at camps to build our personal skills and development.

At cadets, we do so much more than just learn first aid. While first aid skills are a huge part of what we do, our members also get involved in unique experiences like science projects, teamwork activities, leadership opportunities, community events, and unforgettable camps.
