Really pleased to see Crafted Words CIC featured by Creative Lives for our approach to low‑waste, sustainable creative sessions. We’re a tiny group of volunteers working from a narrowboat, so reusing materials and keeping things simple is part of how we work and we're keen to keep learning and improving.

We’re really grateful to have been awarded a £250 Sustainability Micro‑Grant from

This support recognises the small, practical ways we build sustainability into our creative wellbeing work, from reusing materials to keeping sessions local and low‑waste.

The grant will help us continue offering welcoming, accessible creative sessions for adults who experience isolation or barriers to support.

Here’s a little glimpse of what’s been keeping us cosy this winter.

From snowman building in the cold to gonk making, festive cards, glass painting and 2D needle felting around the table, our sessions have been full of laughter, colour, and that gentle magic that happens when people create side by side. We’ve even squeezed in plenty of creative writing to warm the imagination while the temperatures dropped outside.

Thank you to everyone who’s joined us, shared ideas, tried something new, or simply shown up to be part of the community. These winter months feel brighter because of you.

And next month 3D needle felting makes its debut. We can’t wait.
