📻🛶 ATHERSTONE PADDLEABILITY CLUB AND RUBYS YARD IS ON BBC CWR ALL THIS WEEK !
The Vic Minett radio show on BBC CWR team are giving Atherstone PaddleAbility Club the chance to tell our story today — from the beginnings of Ruby’s Yard to the launch of our new inclusive paddling club on the Coventry Canal.
A big thank you to everyone who is taking part and sharing their experiences of getting out on the water. 💙

6.30–7.30pm
🌊 Saturday 19 September – OPEN DAY
Sessions at:
10.00–11.00am
11.30am–12.30pm
1.30–2.30pm
3.00–4.00pm
Beginners and anyone who may need some extra support to get out on the water.are very welcome to come to the OPEN DAY
You don’t need to be experienced or particularly sporty. Come and have a go, and discover whether paddling might be for you.

🔥 FIRE SAFETY AT RUBYS YARD 🔥
With the current extremely dry conditions and the Government’s serious alert about wildfires, we have reluctantly decided that barbecues and fire pits cannot be used at RUBYS YARD until further notice.
We are really sorry to disappoint anyone for whom having a barbecue or using the fire pit was central to your plans but after such a long period of hot and dry weather, we simply cannot take the risk of a fire starting and spreading to the nearby woodland and homes.
If you already have a booking with us and would like to cancel please feel free to get in touch .We hope everyone will understand.

Sunny weekend at Ruby’s Yard

The Violet Project describes itself as a "small but mighty "charity working to build a space and break the silence and stigma around su***de.
Families which the Violet project support were able to enjoy the peaceful little oasis at RUBYS YARD - to smile have fun ,and be close to nature .

A Generous Gift from Nuneaton Rotary Club

A huge thank you to the Rotary Club of Nuneaton for their very generous donation of £250 to Ruby’s Yard CIC during their centenary year.
It was a real pleasure to visit the club, share the story of Ruby’s Yard and talk about the development of our new volunteer-led Atherstone PaddleAbility Club.
Support like this helps us continue to create inclusive opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy nature, learn new skills and spend time on the water.
We are really grateful to Joe, David and all the Rotary members for their warm welcome, encouragement and generosity as they celebrate 100 years of service to the community.

🦉 The Owls, the Outwoods and the Ice Cream 🍦
A magical sunny morning at Ruby’s Yard when nursery children parents and teachers from the Outwoods Primary School were joined by the Owl Man , Debbie , and the owls Albert, Peony, Bow and Bumble to bring their classroom learning about owls to life
The children sat quietly in the shade, listened and seemed completely spellbound by these amazing birds — some native, others from as far as India.
Another lovely Ruby’s Yard moment: children learning outdoors about nature , stories coming to life, and sharing a lovely peaceful and shady space together.
The visit finished with a very special treat from the ice cream man . 🍦
What a lovely end of term and such a memorable experience thanks to everyone who made it happen at Outwoods school , our local Owl Man Debbie - and of course the Owls

LAUNCH OF THE NEW ATHERSTONE PADDLEABILITY CLUB - SUNDAY JULY 12TH

Come to Ruby’s Yard for this first PaddleAbility Club Open Day and have a gentle paddle on the Coventry Canal.
Friendly, qualified instructors, a safe and supportive atmosphere, and a great chance to get out on the water.
Sessions at 10.00am, 11.30am, 1.45pm and 3.00pm
£6 per paddler
Open to everyone aged 10+ with additional health needs or disabilities.
