Merly’s Kitchen CIC is not just a café. We are a not-for-profit community organisation, created for our community and here when people need us.
❤️ We’re the place you can turn to when things are tough.
🛒 We provide a community fridge and emergency food and household support.
🤝 We give people opportunities to volunteer, build confidence, learn new skills and, for some, take those first steps back towards work.
🫶 We create a place to belong, somewhere you can walk through the door, have a brew, meet someone and not feel alone.
♟️🎨📚 We run community clubs and activities, and when our community tells us it needs something, we listen. That’s how new groups, activities and projects at Merly’s begin.
🌱 We give people the opportunity to get involved, contribute and become part of something.
And because we’re a Community Interest Company, we’re not here to make profits for shareholders. The money we generate helps us keep doing all of this.
So yes, you can pop into Merly’s for a bacon sandwich.
You can grab a takeaway coffee.
You can meet a friend for lunch.
But every time you do, you’re helping us keep the doors open for the person who might walk through them tomorrow needing something much more than a cup of tea.
