A massive THANK YOU to all the incredible pupils and staff at Campsmount Academy for your amazing generosity in your recent donation to the Foodbank. Thanks to all your efforts you managed to collect over 500 food items, providing vital support to Families in our community. We are proud to be associated with you and the Academy and your kindness truly helps to make life brighter for others.

The DN6 Foodbank held in St. Peter's Church Hall is pleased to announce it will be open from 10:30am until 12noon tomorrow Thursday 1st Jan 2026. With the help of both Aldi and the Co-op there is plenty of fresh produce and bread available, for free, please come along and celebrate the New Year with a free Coffee and Cake.

Additionally if you need any further assistance we maybe able to help you.

We wish you all a Happy New Year and if you are struggling to feed your family, please come down and talk to us, you are not alone.

Don't Be Alone at Christmas: DN6 Askern Foodbank.

We would like to thank all the people who contributed towards the wonderful harvest festival donations from the local schools of Askern Moss Road Infants, Askern Littlemoor Infant Academy and Norton Junior and Infant School, who also had a sponsored walk around the village plus the local churches of St. Peters and St. Mary Magdalene and all local people what came in and gave personal donations thank you all.

DN6 Foodbank (formally known as Community Reaching You (CRY) was founded by members of St. Peter’s Church Askern and other community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area and supported by Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council.

We have been established within the area since 2015, throughout the Pandemic crisis, we remained opened, providing food parcels and hot meals from the church hall. This year our volunteers have dedicated over 2200 hours to running the foodbank, we have served over 700 Households and assisted close to 1000 adults and over 800 Children.
Over the summer holidays just gone, we supplied families whose children would have been on free school meals with food to make 745 lunches for 149 children over a six-week period.

We now offer food parcels on a Thursday morning to those in need across Askern, Norton and Campsall. To help with this, we receive donations from the local community groups, supermarkets, churches and schools especially in autumn with the wonderful harvest festival baskets. We also receive donations of fresh food from local supermarkets, which we then give back out to those in our villages who have fallen into crisis.

What a great few months it has been with help from the St. Peter's Church Sunday School, we at the Foodbank, have created a small vegetable garden and grown potatoes, tomatoes, beetroot and various other veggies. Plus we have 4 small trees growing, cherry, apple, pear and a special FIG tree which should fruit next year.
This coming, Thursday morning at 10am, we will be harvesting the rest of the potatoes so if you took part in any of the activities please come down to the hall, there will be gloves and aprons available but come suitably dress to assist with the event. Plus Tea/Coffee and cake, Special Thanks to the Rev. Stella for all her hard work
