What a wonderful night we had last night with the amazing Rube and Rake - our latest act from Highlights Rural Touring Scheme. Their mellow sound went down a treat with our audience. All the way from Newfoundland, Canada, Josh and Andrew (Rube and Rake) gave us beautiful harmonies, great guitar work and some laughs too with their stories of life in their homeland. It made Askam seem positively tropical in comparison!

Hot on the heels of our very successful Burns Night Quiz is news of our next Highlights Rural Touring Scheme act, folk duo, Rube and Rake. This isn’t until Saturday 23rd May, but there is an early bird offer underway that you may want to take advantage of. Tickets are normally £15 but if you book and pay before 9th February it’s only £12! Well worth sorting your place out early doors.

A cracking night last night for our Burns Night quiz! As ever, quizmeister, Wilf Proctor set us an excellent quiz with some real head-scratchers. Winners were The Timorous Beasties and runners-up, Rabbie’s Rebels. Thanks to everyone who came - it was a packed hall - and supported our event. As ever, all proceeds go to keeping our lovely little hall up and running. We are planning to get a new roof in the near future so watch this space.. 👀

We all need something to look forward to in January when all the hullabaloo of Christmas is just a memory. So here it is…….!
Our Burns Night Quiz will take place on Friday 23rd January at 7.30 pm and, if last year’s was anything to go by, will be a very popular event.
Quizmeister Wilf Proctor will oversee proceedings and all the details you need are below ⬇️
You don’t have to be Scottish 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 to join in the fun and this will be a general knowledge quiz not just about Burns or Scotland (although there will no doubt be a wee smattering, natch)
Grab some team mates and get your places booked! Ticket price includes a tasty pie and peas supper and there will be a well-stocked licensed bar to lubricate those little grey cells!
