Our over 60's Walking Football players hosted two friendly fixtures against Stockport Walking Football Group here at The Tameside Stadium last Friday on the 3G pitch

Unfortunately, we lost 0-2 & drew 1-1, some great football on display from both teams, despite the pouring rain!

The cancer awareness roadshow will be at Curzon Ashton Football Club today. The friendly team will be on hand to talk to people about the signs and symptoms of cancer you should look out for, cancer screening and what to do if you’re worried about cancer.

We’re delighted to share that Willow Wood Hospice has won Social Enterprise/CIC/Charity of the Year at this year’s Pride of Tameside Business Awards! 🎉

Some of our team were at Dukinfield Town Hall this evening (Friday) to celebrate, alongside some of the fantastic businesses and organisations that make Tameside such a special place to live and work 😊

We were honoured to be nominated alongside Prime Active Communities CIC and Valley Farm Owl CIC, and we’d like to congratulate all the finalists on their fantastic work 👏

A huge thank you to our friends at Red Rock for sponsoring the category, and to everyone who continues to support the Hospice. This award is a wonderful recognition of the difference our staff, volunteers and supporters make every day 💚

We were represented at the awards by CEO Tracy Minshull; Joanne Lees, our Partnership Development Lead; Chairman Timothy Jackson; and trustee Chris Hinds.

Our Community Guests for tomorrow's fixture v Hyde United FC are staff from Tameside Neurodiversity Hub.

Tameside Neurodiversity Hub is a service where parents, carers, and young people can access advice, signposting, and information related to neurodiversity.

Children and young people don't need a formal diagnosis or even be on a diagnostic pathway to use the service.

Everyone is welcome.

They offer:

Monthly workshops, both online and in person

Parent and carer coffee mornings

Drop-in sessions with a Navigator for tailored information, advice, and signposting

Support via phone and email

Their coffee mornings provide an opportunity to chat with a Navigator and connect with other parents and carers.

The drop-in sessions offer a private one-to-one space to discuss your questions and explore available support.

Superb afternoon at The Tameside Stadium yesterday for the Tameside derby v Ashton United FC, a convincing 2-0 win for the Nash, three wins on the trot now!

Great to welcome Joanne and volunteers from Willow Wood Hospice to the game, spreading awareness of the excellent work they all do, along with raising some valuable funds.

Thank you to everyone who made a donation and thanks to Joanne for presenting Brad Holmes with his man of the match award 🏆🍾

Thanks also to the victorious players for wearing Willow Wood t-shirts in the pre-match warm up 👊
