🌸 IT’S BEEN A HOT MINUTE 🌸

For the last few weeks, some of our students have been training in preparation to climb Mount Snowdon this summer in memory of their friend Maisie, and to raise funds for Maisie Moo’s Mission.

Rain or shine, they have been out hiking with smiles on their faces! Even suggesting that some of the hikes haven’t been challenging enough!

These sessions have supported their health and wellbeing, increased their confidence and shown them what it means to work as part of a team, supporting one another. And each week another young person joins our Snowdon Team!!

Can we make it to the top of Snowdon? I’m sure we can!!

We’re so proud of our young people 💛

Yesterday, some of our students had their first day working in our salon, putting their hairdressing and customer service skills into practice with real clients.

This was a big step for them and took a lot of confidence but they did amazing!

We’ve already had models who want to rebook, and the feedback has been lovely. Not just about the hair, but also how welcoming and polite the students were.

These moments are what it’s all about…building confidence, learning real skills and helping young people believe in themselves again.

Well done girls, you smashed it 👏

💼 Careers advice & job support at EVJ Aspire 💼

Every Wednesday, we’re joined by Laura from Onward Homes, who gives her time to support young people with their next steps.

If you’re aged 16–24 and not currently in education, employment or training, you can come along from 10am and take part in:✔️ Group workshops✔️ 1:1 support✔️ Help with CVs and job applications✔️ Advice on getting into work or college

Whether you’re unsure what to do next or just need a bit of guidance, these sessions are a great place to start.

This is part of our Safe To Soar project, funded by Tameside Council and GMCA.

✨ STRIVING AND THRIVING ✨

With every class, our students confidence continues to grow as they begin performing treatments and meeting new people.

We have new students joining us regularly, and it’s amazing to see our existing students represent our values and vision so proudly. The welcoming environment they have created for others is something really special.

It shows that inclusivity is everyone’s responsibility, and when you set clear expectations from the beginning, an inclusive community will always grow.

✨FREE TRAINING FOR THOSE AGED 16-24✨

EVJ Aspire CIC are pleased to announce our FREE training courses, funded by Tameside Council and GMCA for 16-24 year olds who are not in education or employment.
Please see our upcoming dates available.

We also have one-to-one support available every Monday to support confidence and wellbeing.

Wednesdays we have careers advice and guidance along with CV workshops.

Referrals are open now and you are more than welcome to visit our centre in Ashton to meet the team, take a look around or join one of our taster sessions.

No experience necessary.

Criteria for free training- you must be aged 16-24 and not in employment or education and a resident in Tameside.

This programme is designed to support young people to build confidence, gain new skills and take positive steps towards education or employment.

We are delighted to announce the launch of our new project Safe to Soar, funded by Tameside Council and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA).

Through this project we will be delivering weekly sessions including courses such as Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy and Barbering, alongside practical employability and personal development support.

In addition to group sessions, we will also be offering one-to-one support to help young people build confidence, improve wellbeing and take positive steps towards further education, training or employment.

This opportunity is open to young people aged 16–24 who are currently not in education, employment or training (NEET) and who are looking for a supportive environment to develop skills and move forward.

Let’s shed some light on our students Eva and Ruby!

Eva and Ruby started their training with us last year. In that time they have worked extremely hard to complete their Level 1 in Hair and Beauty.

Eva’s passion is with nails, and now she has perfected her manicures she is working towards acrylic nail enhancements and BIAB nails.

Ruby loves a mix of hair and beauty. She has mastered root colour application, is working towards acrylic nail acrylic nail enhancement, hair foiling and cutting.

Well done girls!!
