It's been a while since we've posted. We hope you are all well. I can't believe it's over a year since the last Tiny Trees Session! It's funny quite a few people have asked me about Tiny Trees lately.
I wanted to share this post from Ashtead Common for all our followers as super excited to see them running events for families. Do check out their Family Ranger Days and get involved. Great work Ashtead Common!

As hopefully most of you know from previous posts and/or emails and/or from me at sessions, Tiny Trees is now closing for the time being as our fanily is growing and I (Conker Claire) won't be able to run it anymore. I will still use these channels if I hear of local outdoor events, forest schools or Ashtead Common events, so feel free to continue to follow us.

For now I wanted to share a list of other Forest Schools in the area in case anyone wants to look them up for your little ones (My daughter and I have tried out the top 3 and loved them all):

Our last session for the year and for the time being on December 17th was a magical winter wonderland celebrating the festive season and enjoying our beautiful Ashtead Common. It was a lovely cheery session although cold and we enjoyed making snowmen from clay, reindeer food, cooking in the mud kitchen and seeing our friendly Father Christmas. A lovely way to end our 2022 brilliant year of Tiny Trees. We hope everyone had a lovely festive time this season :)

Merry Christmas! Have a lovely day from Molly Maple, Acorn Anne and Conker Claire. Enjoy all the festivities! xx

Our last session is this Saturday morning and we have just a few spaces left if anyone would like to join us for some festive fun and a chance to meet our special visitor. It may be cold but we'll be there with our layers enjoying the festive forest. Layer up everyone. See you there :)

For those who don't know already Tiny Trees is closing at the end of the year and the planned fabulous Christmas session on the 17th December will be our last one. Conker Claire is pregnant with twins and so we had to make the difficult decision to not continue. We have absolutely loved running Tiny Trees and thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey. Who knows, one day we might be back, but for now we can't make any promises until Conker Claire and her family adapts to being a family of 5.

If anyone knows a Forest School leader interested in running sessions on Ashtead Common the Ashtead Common team are very supportive and great to work with. I'm also happy to provide guidance or even a Tiny Trees franchise if it makes it easier. Do get in touch with me if you want to discuss anything.

See those of you who can make it on Saturday 17th December for our last Festive fun. Can't wait!

Happy December until then

On Friday we had our first of our two Festive Sessions and what fun we had. We found reindeer footprints on the way and found out some facts about reindeers. We had a special visitor festive visitor, with all children getting a little gift and even Conker Claire got a hug. We made reindeer food to sprinkle on our lawns on Christmas eve to attract Santa's reindeer. We decorated pots and planted bulbs which we can enjoy watching grow in spring. We also made reindeer with sticks found around site. Obviously all our normal activities too in the mud kitchen, dig zone, bug and music areas. We concluded the session with a story, hot chocolate or hot squash and mince pies or biscuits. Such a fun session. One more to go on Saturday 17th December, do book on now to avoid disappointment. Can't wait to see you then :) Happy festive season until then.

Our half term event (sorry late to post) celebrated National Bat week and explored pumpkins. It was a busy session with such a buzz. The participants made conker bats, cardboard bats and pumpkin apple stamped pictures. There was a lot of pumpkin cooking in the mud kitchen and our usual dig and build and music areas were well used. On route to site we found pumpkins with animals and did the animal actions We also had a lovely story at the end about Archie the bat read by a visiting volunteer Celia Centipede. Thank you to our extra volunteer helpers who made the session possible. A lovely energetic session, thanks to all who took part :)
