Here are some pics from before we started work to September 2024 of the plot area, some 14 months after we were registered as Trustees on the Allotment Charity.
Our Emma was as keen as mustard and had seeds (green manure) in the ground as soon as she was allocated her plot.

Some of you lovely plot holders entered some bits in the village show!!
Steve & Stevie triumphed with there entries, two first place and a Cup , newest exhibitors, they had two fabulous, huge Squashes and a lovely collection of veggies displayed creatively on a plate.
Sarah entered three Beetroot and got a second, Tim got second for the longest Runner. Oh and I got a second for heaviest Onion at 495grams!!!

Down the lane ……
Kev was trying to stick a pole in the ground to hold up my wayward Verbenas but they were having none of it.
Now it’s cooler I’m tackling my shed… the roof has extra overhang for catching more rain, and of course for me to shelter under… clever Dunc.
Then there’s the most interesting sky… changing constantly over half an hour.
Oh, and this gorgeous Swan sitting sedately on the water eyeing Betty up. She was joyfully snuffling and was totally oblivious , thank goodness!

The Appledore Allotment Gardens are continuing to thrive.
They have become a haven for some, camaraderie for others, for some just gentle contemplation and some “me”time.
There is advice for those who ask, comfort if one is having a rough time, many ears on standby to listen to any problems, shoulders to cry on and soooooo many laughs, cuppas, biscuits and many hands to help out!!!
Oh, and a wonderful setting..
Kev took a couple of fab photos just after the semi eclipse.
Bonus……. You get to eat your own fresh as a Daisy produce….
