Flora The Singleton Giant Flora - The Singleton Giant. She is the beautiful Giant made especially for the community of Singleton, in Ashford, Kent.

Her life started when Strange Cargo were enlisted to develop a Giant for chosen areas. Flora, a woodland maiden, was awakened on Saturday 22nd April 2006. The sun shone, on Flora, on her happy day and the background of the woodland set the scene. She stands a striking 12 ft high and has joined a family of giants in East Kent, which have been developed with communities across East Kent. Flora is a

treasure and we as members of the community hope that you will enjoy seeing her at events all over the district.

Would like to thank Chilmington Green Primary school for inviting us in so the whole school was able to meet Flora.
They had really great questions and hopefully will come up and say hello when they next see her.

Can you believe it’s been 20 years since Flora first made the Singleton community woodland her home?

From snowy winters to bluebell springs, she’s been a constant presence for our local community. Today we’re celebrating her 20th year under the trees, looking more beautiful than ever next to her birthday sign.

Happy Birthday, Flora, here’s to many more years of woodland adventures!

Flora continues to proudly represent Singleton, Great Chart and Chilmington locally, Ashford, Kent and even the UK across Europe.

These amazing young people look like they had a great time creating the song and video. Loved spotting areas of our Parish in the video too.

In just four days, these young people wrote, recorded and filmed their own music video as part of a supported workshop with Da Base Music Centre.
