What a night! The simple ones are always the best 🎉

Our annual Piston Cup brought Round Table Ashby and 41 Club together for rounds of Uno, gin rummy and sh*thead. Table took home the coveted Piston Cup, which means it’s now up to 41 Club to organise next year’s event!

A big thank you to XII - Twelve Ashby for hosting us — the food was delicious and the staff were amazing for putting up with us all!

And these photos definitely weren’t taken afterwards in Spoons because I forgot to take any on the night… 😅

If you were walking past the Bath Grounds and saw a bunch of men huddled around bits of wood, rope, and questionable engineering decisions… don’t worry — it wasn’t a crime scene.
It was Ashby Round Table doing what we do best: having a laugh while trying something completely ridiculous.

Our mystery event turned out to be a challenge to build a device — using only limited items — that could launch a tennis ball as far as possible.

And let’s just say… the results were gloriously varied.

We ended up with three very different builds, each with its own “unique” interpretation of physics, structural integrity, and common sense.
The degrees of success ranged from surprisingly impressive to spectacularly chaotic, but every single one delivered exactly what we wanted:

👉 Loads of fun.
👉 Plenty of laughs.
👉 A cracking night with great lads.

If this seems like a bit of fun to you, and you’re a man aged between 18–45, why not reach out and join the fun

It might have seemed like we had gone quiet, but Ashby 507 has never been busier! We have been lucky enough to have had some great recent events including, but certainly not limited to, a tour of Dreamy Cow (and of course a taste of their delicious ice cream!), an exciting evening of archery and competition with Ivanhoe Archers and attending Round Table's annual NSW (National Sporting Weekend).

This year NSW was held in Colchester, allowing Round Table groups from all over Britain and Ireland (and a few internationals) to come together for a weekend of camaraderie and sportsmanship.

A big shout-out to all our active members and event organisers for continuing to support our club and give up their valuable time! 👍🏻❤️

A huge thank you to Ivanhoe Archers for having us last week and putting us through our paces. Safe to say we need a few more sessions! 😅

Well done to Tom K, Tom P, Grant and Paul for winning our 'Top Twangers' trophy.
