ASHBOURNE ROTARY EASTER EGG APPEAL - WHAT A RESULT! THANK YOU πŸ‘
It never fails to amaze me how generous and supportive everyone from Ashbourne and the surrounding villages are, when it comes to charity.
I am delighted to be able to confirm that a total of 480 Easter Eggs have been donated this year (compared with 265 last year). They are now on there way to children in Ukraine who don’t have a lot to smile about at the moment.
Thank you to everyone who donated. In particular I would like to thank the Students, Parents and Teachers of QEGS who donated 200 Easter Eggs. πŸ‘
Thanks also to David Neill Mica and Cornerstone Coffee House for acting as drop-off points again this year.

ASHBOURNE ROTARY EASTER EGG APPEAL
Spring is just around the corner, and with it comes the joy of Easter – a time for hope, renewal, and of course, chocolate! For the past two years, we have been overwhelmed by your incredible generosity in supporting our Easter Egg Appeal for children in Ukraine. Your kindness brought smiles and moments of happiness to children facing unimaginable challenges.
And so, we’re thrilled to announce that our 2026 Easter Egg Appeal is officially underway!
For many, this may be their only Easter treat. With your support , we can make sure as many children as possible experience a little bit of joy and normality this season.
If you would like to donate an Easter Egg again this year then a minimum 90g egg is ideal as they have less packaging, but any size is acceptable. Please drop them off at David Neill Mica DIY or Cornerstone Coffee Shop by 10 March 2026 so we can get them to Ukraine by Easter.

VISIT TO CROMFORD MILL
We had a very interesting guided tour of Cromford Mills.

Built in 1771 by Sir Richard Arkwright, Cromford Mills was the world’s first successful water-powered cotton spinning mill and a cornerstone of the Industrial Revolution.

Its well worth a visit

The Rotary Club of Ashbourne meets twice a month and we welcome new members.
The Club now offers several membership options from full member, associate member or β€˜Friends of Rotary.’ The latter being a more flexible option for anyone who is interested in assisting with our charity fund raising projects from time to time.
