Esther's Tale

Today's tale comes to us from , who shares their terrifying encounter with an unseen pub patron:
'Just a short story - this happened about 12 years ago, right before the pub closed. I was at The Ship Inn in South Harting with my dad and my uncle, we’d all got a drink and were sitting at a table and I think we were the only people in there. My dad (who liked a ghost story) was telling my uncle that the pub was haunted - supposedly because it was built with beams from a wrecked ship.
My uncle laughed and said he didn’t believe in ghosts - as soon as he said this his pint glass shot across the length of the table and smashed on the floor. It happened so quickly we all sat in shock for a minute or two. There was no breeze and the table wasn’t wobbly, and none of our hands were near his glass. My uncle went to get another drink and the landlord said it wasn’t the first time it had happened and gave it to him on the house.
The pub was turned into houses shortly after and every time I drive past I wonder if the new owners have experienced any spooky goings on.'
