A recovering addict of 12 years has described how she had to detox from alcohol in her family home due to a lack of available support.

Emma Metcalfe, from Co Armagh, described her experience in her mid 20s when it became apparent she had a serious problem with alcohol.

I nothing has changed in regards of help when you at your worst, extremely daunting and overwhelming to be told you must attend the fellowship for alcoholics, humiliation is an understatement I was a young girl and it was thee most humbling experience of my life.
