It is Mother's Day in Palestine.

Today especially we are thinking of all the Palestinian mothers, the displaced, the bereaved, the lost and the scared. The mothers who have had to wrap their babies in shrouds. The pregnant women facing labour in a tent, with no medical care. You are all in our thoughts.

We are thinking of all the children who have been orphaned by this genocide, all those labelled with the horrifying term - WCNSF, those separated from their mothers.

We are grieving with you.

We call once more for freedom in Palestine and for an immediate ceasefire.

while looking heaven in the eye
awaiting his dad who left in a blaze–
and bid no one farewell
not even to his flesh
not even to himself–
sees the kite, my kite you made, flying up above
and thinks for a moment an angel is there

Members of Mná Árd Mhacha joined in support with Palestine solidarity groups throughout Ireland who today (and have been) called on Lidl to stop stocking products made in Israel with immediate effect. We handed letters to various Lidl management calling for the removal of goods from the shelves.

Mná Árd Mhacha have very kindly been donated some bracelets and necklaces by The Irish Corner to raise funds for various Palestinian charities.

This evening we will be at the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign - IPSC - Armagh Branch screening at West Armagh Consortium, all funds will be going to Amjaad charity in Gaza.
