Well, you’ve guessed! We’re eating again. We had an enjoyable brunch at The Red Lion in Moore. Some different members from our afternoon tea outing, which shows we can please all of our members.

Many thanks again to Dianne who organises our get-togethers

If you like socialising whether it’s dining, theatre trips or anything else, then why not join us. Of course, we do have our regular monthly WI meetings which are well worth attending.

It is finally here - our newly rebranded WI Magazine: and a new way to provide you deep-dives and longer interviews on all things NFWI.

Fittingly for a summer issue, we present 10 pages on beach life, and spotlight some wonderful coastal WIs. We've also got a new section where your questions are answered by a WI panel in 'WIsdom'; a piece on slow crafting; and all your favourites from recipes to campaign updates.

We really hope you enjoy your new magazine, and that you find it a great read for the summer!

Here we go again, where there’s food, there’s us!

Lovely afternoon tea at The Treasury with excellent service and company. Our own private dining room, no less.

We were all stuffed by the end and there were a few ‘doggy bags’ taken home.

Where to next, I wonder! Just wait and see.

Another month, another walk. This month it was Kathy who led us from Lower Walton along the Trans Pennine Trail up to Latchford, round by Ackers Pit and back along the Bridgewater canal, a total of 4.5 miles. Lovely conversation, enjoyable exercise with baby coots and marsh orchids catching our attention on the way.
And the rain stayed off!!

Our WI has had its first holiday with our members. Alvaston Hall, in Nantwich was chosen as a trial stay. Well, it looks like they had a great time and I’m sure there’ll be more holidays to follow, perhaps a bit further afield next time.

A busy meeting last night! As our 2025/2026 campaign is Bystanders can be Lifesavers, we invited the charity Northwest First Responder group to talk to us about heart attacks, cardiac arrest, how to perform CPR and use a defibrillator. The talk was very informative and we had the opportunity to have a go on the dummy. Many thanks to all the group who took the time to visit us.

We also held the vote for the 2026/2027 WI resolutions

1. Accessible Public Toilet Facilities

2. Action on Women’s Homelessness

We also held our bi-annual sales table with donations of home-made jams, cakes, sewn items, jewellery and plants. What a talented lot we are. There were also books and jigsaws on sale.

Of course, the WI is not all about jam and Jerusalem but who would not like homemade products.

A good turnout for yet another trip by our WI ladies. This time we went to see the musical Operation Mincemeat at Chester Storyhouse, after a delicious lunch at Chez Jules.
It was amazing they could create a comedy out of a secret operation in WWII, but they did.
Many thanks to Dianne for all of the organisation. We did have a good day out.

A group of us went to see Miss Saigon yesterday at the Empire Theatre, Liverpool. A great performance and a tear in our eyes at the end.
We finished off the day with a meal locally at the Ram’s Head. A full day and thoroughly enjoyed by all of us.
