A mix of vegetables, baking potatoes, bread, Yo Sushi and party cakes out on the Sharing Tables in time for Playgroup leaving mid morning on Monday. Most bb 4th October and from the shop shelves last night. Will see how much is left by this evening as the community Applecross Forum is on from 6pm to which all are welcome. ( A bag might be handy if wanting any of the tatties.)

Members of Applecross Trust will be meeting in the Hall Lounge between 8.30am and 4.30pm on Monday 5th & Tuesday 6th October 2026. The Community Forum will be meeting at 6pm in the Lounge on Monday evening when there is the chance to meet with some of the Trustees, be updated on coming priorities and exchange information and ideas between local groups. All Applecross residents or local group representatives welcome.

🎶 Live at the Hall: Malcolm Le Maistre & Friends 🎶

Friday 9th October, 7.30pm

Join us for an entertaining evening of songs, storytelling and Americana!

🎤 Malcolm Le Maistre is a writer, singer, musician, storyteller and tree planter, and a former member of The Incredible String Band, which he joined in 1970. His songs cover everything from fruit and vegetables to snakes, life at sea, beavers, oil and trees, plus some so-called serious stuff, and his performances are full of stories from his long and varied life. He is currently leader and singer with the BarrowBand.

🪕 Ben Belcher is a native of Virginia and a banjo player extraordinaire. A multi-instrumentalist, he plays with the Hot Seats bluegrass band and the Corn Potato String Band, and is an occasional BarrowBander when in Scotland.

🥁 They'll be joined by Enrique Bu**ta from Galicia on percussion.

An acoustic-guitar bluegrass duo of Will Greenway and James Hickman, performing music from the golden era of bluegrass and the Appalachian mountains.

Two nights of great music, great company and a warm welcome. Hope you can come along!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who made today’s Strupag and Carboot Sale such a success! 🎉

We're delighted to share that we raised £565 for the community hall’s activities!

Thank you to everyone who came along to support us, to our wonderful volunteers who worked their socks off, to all who donated baking and raffle prizes, and to everyone who ran a stall. We couldn't have done it without you!

Your generosity will go a long way in keeping our hall activities going. Thank you all! ❤️

One week on and we hope all who took part or volunteered for Applecross Duathlon 2026 have fully recovered. Here are a few moments from the big day, running 9 miles through the hills before cycling 15 back from Arrina and then dancing the night away at the Ceilidh to the tunes of BlackRock Ceilidh and yes, The Strip the Willow did extend through the doors and into the kitchen again.
Thanks to all who contributed to the day & night, helping make it another memorable date on the Applecross Community Calendar, despite the wet weather.

Two of our local stallholders will be taking part in the Arts & Crafts Fair over in Lochcarron Village Hall as part of Tartan Week. Elodie with fer chocolates, Pomme Cocoa - Handmade in Applecross and Hannah with her artwork, bags and jewellery range from Patterns of Light.
Our own Christmas Craft Fair is set to take place on the afternoon of Friday 27th November so plenty time for local craft makers to book a stall here for that too.

Thought you might like to hear a little more about the Art and Craft Fair. It's a new thing this year - instead of the open studios trail. We thought it would be nicer for you to see all the artists and crafters in one place - in the Lochcarron Village Hall

Five local artists will have a small exhibition of work. Morag Burton, Carol C***s, Aileen Grant Artist, Gillian Pattinson and Lynne Roberts will be showing coastal and woodland landscape paintings in oils, acrylics, pastels and other media. They will also have cards and unframed items, and calendars.

The local craft and maker stalls will include our local chocolatier, Jan Overmeer horn carvings, Mairi Young's rugs, Christine Lewin's wooden gifts and wood craft, Rob Wilkinson's photographs and antique jewellery and a few others.

There will be a few events....
Rob Wilkinson will be taking portrait photos, including pics for his “Faces of Lochcarron” Project, and Lynne Roberts artist will be running linocut and collage workshops (pre-booking recommended).

Interested? We'll be open 10 am - 5pm on Thursday 1st October, and on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd too. We're planning to serve light refreshments 11 am to 3pm every day.
