Coach Award Winner - Karen Walker Jones

Karen is an inclusive and dedicated coach within Disability Sport who supports athletes across Boccia, Swimming, Badminton, Athletics and Multi Sports. She creates a safe and welcoming environment where every athlete feels valued, supported and able to take part.

She is highly committed, giving her time as a volunteer coach and referee across Scotland while continuing to develop her own skills and qualifications in coaching, inclusion and officiating. Karen is also progressing through further training in Boccia and other sports.

Above all, Karen focuses on enjoyment, confidence and teamwork. She builds strong relationships with athletes and encourages everyone to do their best, reminding them that they are all part of one team.

Huge congratulations to Karen on this well-deserved Coach Award 🎉👏

Amazing Athletics Athletes
8 athletes went to Redstar Athletics event at Crownpoint Glasgow yesterday, doing three events each. There was athletes competing in club throw, soft ball, shot putt, turbo javelin, long jump, standing long jump, 50m, 100m and 400m events. As their coach couldn’t be prouder of their effort and determination and team spirit. Well done 👏
In total we have:

🥇15 Gold
🥈7 Silver
🥉1 Bronze

Thank you to all athletes, parents, Ling Fung Mann, Sean Doughty for all their hard work and help couldn’t have done it without them, and everyone else who made this such a great day from Karen
