ANNAN LADIES BURNS CLUB

97 years in February 2025 since it was founded and the oldest Ladies Burns Club in existence.

What more to encourage members than that?

Annan Ladies Burns Club is a great club, who welcomes new members. Robert Burns, we believe, truly loved the lassies. In Annan we can boast of many, many 'bonnie lassies' who would meet Robert's criteria.
On Thursday October 9th from 2-4pm, there is a promise of a really super time at Cluden, (also known as Campbell House, Tweedie Terrace) for these very 'bonnie lassies' and their bonnie friends at the opening meeting and AGM of Annan Ladies Burns Club.
Burns always had an eye for the lassies and saw something in most of them which was worth putting pen to paper. Even Willie Wastle's wife played a lead role, even if it was to her detriment!
With budding 'Roberta Burns' displaying their talents while emulating the Bard there is always a feast of entertainment palatable to all.
Our Halloween Party will be held on Thursday 30th October, in Cluden 2-4pm, where everyone welcome to join us for an afternoon of fun, games, laughter and friendship. Plans are well underway for the rest of the meetings, with lots to look forward to.
Ladies and their bonnie friends are always very welcome at each and every meeting.

Today we welcomed members of Annan Ladies Burns Club to Ellisland. They enjoyed a tour of the buildings and grounds before heading over to Friars Carse Country House Hotel for their afternoon tea.

We look forward to welcoming more visitors to Ellisland, keep an eye out for exciting updates coming soon on our reopening for 2025!

Annan Ladies had a lovely trip to Ellisland Farm & Friars Carse yesterday. Which began with a welcome by Ailsa at Ellisland and a video of Robert Burns time there, We were then left to wander to look at the various rooms.
Afterwards we went to Friars Carse for a scrumptious afternoon tea. Our honorary member David Gillies gave us a wonderful history on Friars Carse and the connection to Robert Burns.
Thanks to Heather at Friars Carse for helping me arrange the trip.
A lovely afternoon was had by all.
