☀️ A huge step forward for sustainability at FFI!

This summer, we reached an exciting milestone in our ongoing effort to make Friends Forever International’s campuses and programs as environmentally sustainable as possible.

Solar panels are now installed on our residential facilities on both sides of the Atlantic!

Durham, New Hampshire (first slide!) — Our beloved Farmhouse, where students stay and where so much of the FFI experience happens, is now generating clean energy from its own rooftop solar array.

Annalong, Northern Ireland (last two slides!) — All residential facilities at the FFE Centre are now fully powered by their new solar array, helping make the campus where so many of our programs and community activities take place more sustainable for years to come.

We are incredibly grateful to the National Lottery Community Fund for Northern Ireland for making the Annalong project possible, and to The Lauenstein Fund, The McIninch Foundation, and the Madelaine G. von Weber Trust for funding the Durham Farmhouse project. We could not have taken this step without their generous support.

This is part of a larger environmental sustainability effort across FFI, and our work continues! We’re now in the midst of a rewilding project at our Durham campus, creating a healthier, more sustainable landscape for the future. Stay tuned for more! 🌱

What a summer it’s been at the FFE Centre in Annalong! ☀️⚽💙

Between our Global Programme, Craft Festival & Pet Show, and now our second annual Summer Sports Programme, the Centre has been full of activity, new faces, and plenty of reasons to celebrate.

More than 25 local children, ages 6-13, joined us for five days of outdoor sports, team building, and fun. From kicking a football around the field to taking on team challenges, the week was all about getting outside, being active, building confidence, and discovering just how much fun physical fitness can be when you’re surrounded by new friends.

We loved ending the week by seeing everyone proudly hold up their certificates of completion. Another summer sports programme in the books, and we’re already looking forward to the next one!

A huge thank you to Newry, Mourne & Down DC for sponsoring the programme for the second year in a row. Their continued support makes it possible for us to offer opportunities like this to local children and families.

We’re incredibly proud to see the FFE Centre continue to become a place where more and more of our local community can come together, learn, play, and connect.

Our 2nd Annual Summer Craft & Community Festival and FIRST EVER Pet Show was a huge success! 🐾☀️

What a fantastic day at the FFE Centre in Annalong! From local craft vendors and children’s activities to face painting, games, delicious veggie burgers, and a pet show that brought plenty of smiles (and some very deserving winners!), there was something for everyone to enjoy.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, brought their pets, supported our local vendors, volunteered their time, or helped make the event possible, including the Newry, Mourne & Down DC for sponsoring the event. Community events like this remind us just how special our corner of the Mournes really is.

Swipe to see some of our adorable pet show winners! 🏆🐶🐱
