We were honoured to be chosen as the Charity of the Month for May 2026 by The Princes Mead Shopping Centre in Farnborough.

We're delighted to share that, thanks to the generosity of shoppers and supporters, an amazing £60.92 was raised for SSAFA! 💙

On 15 January 1945, Field Marshal Montgomery is pictured wearing the jump jacket and red beret of The Parachute Regiment. 'Monty' was appointed by King George VI as Colonel Commandant of the Parachute Regiment.

The scarf he is wearing is one of thousands that were used by British troops on the night of 5-6 June 1944, when they were dropped by parachute in Normandy.
