Gifts in Wills help SSAFA provide practical, emotional, and financial support to people across the Armed Forces community. This includes welfare and wellbeing support, mentoring, local support groups, and assistance for military families.

In 2025, SSAFA's dedicated teams of volunteers and employees supported more than 12,000 individuals through its casework service alone. With over £8M pledged in financial assistance, our teams saw a trend emerging, with more beneficiaries needing support with household goods than anything else. This was closely followed by those needing mobility support and housing assistance. Here at SSAFA, we understand that starting again after instability or homelessness means moving into a property, without basic household items many take for granted.
Essentials like kettles, carpets, bedding and washing machines can be life changing for those facing housing insecurity. Whether securing funding for a deposit, paying bus fare to collect keys, or securing funding for those items that make a house a home, SSAFA caseworkers are there to help, while community engagement volunteers ensure those in need know where to turn. As summer has drawn to a close and we head into autumn, we’re looking back at a busy few months for our fantastic Hampshire volunteers. 💙
From the Southwick D-Day Revival, where SSAFA Havant joined a weekend of 1940s music, vehicles, history and community spirit, to the Overlord Show, where our volunteers braved the heat to meet visitors and raise awareness of SSAFA’s work.
And who could forget Thruxton Motor Circuit? 🏁 Our volunteers, Friends of SSAFA and local cadets worked together across the British Touring Cars and Superbikes events, raising more than £4,000 at the Superbikes weekend alone and handling 504 bags.
A huge thank you to everyone who has volunteered, fundraised, represented SSAFA and chatted to members of the public over the summer. Your enthusiasm and commitment make such a difference. ❤️
Now, as we head into autumn, there’s plenty more to come!
