A few throw backs to when we started this time last year we had about 10-20 participants.
Park yoga is special because it combines the benefits of yoga with the unique experience of being outdoors in a natural environment.
Some reasons people find park yoga especially valuable:
Connection with nature: Practicing among trees, grass, and open sky can create a stronger sense of calm and mindfulness than an indoor studio.
Fresh air and sunlight: Outdoor sessions provide natural light and fresh air, which can improve mood, energy levels, and overall well-being.
Community atmosphere: Park yoga classes are often welcoming and accessible, bringing together people of different ages and experience levels.
Reduced stress: Natural settings have been shown to help lower stress and promote relaxation, complementing yoga's mental-health benefits.
More space and freedom: Parks offer room to move and a less confined feeling than many indoor spaces.
Accessibility: Many park yoga programs are free or low-cost, making yoga available to a wider range of people.
Changing scenery: The sounds of birds, rustling leaves, and seasonal changes can make each session feel fresh and engaging.
Many participants describe park yoga as a combination of exercise, meditation, and time in natureβmaking it feel less like a workout and more like a restorative experience.
