Picket Twenty Community Association This page is intended for news, announcements and updates relating to the Picket Twenty Community Centre and its events.

Picket Twenty is a large development to the east of Andover, Hampshire with plans to expand to over 1500 homes in the coming years. The PTCA has been setup as a registered charity to advance education and provide recreation for Picket Twenty residents. At the heart the community is the new Community Centre, owned by Test Valley Borough Council and run by a team of volunteers who are mostly residents. The Community Centre has a range of flexible spaces and is an ideal venue for classes, groups, meetings and parties. It is available to hire to Picket Twenty and the wider Andover community.

♻️ WASTE LESS WEDNESDAY ♻️

Ever looked at the symbols on your packaging and wondered what they actually mean? 🤔

Here’s a quick guide to some of the most common recycling symbols you’ll see around the home:

🔄 Mobius Loop – The item is capable of being recycled, but this doesn’t necessarily mean your local collection accepts it.
♻️ Recycle label – Check the wording carefully. It tells you how the packaging should be recycled.
💧 Rinse & Recycle – Give containers a quick rinse to remove food or drink residue before recycling.
🔢 Plastic resin codes – The number tells you what type of plastic the item is made from. For example, 1 is PET and 2 is HDPE.
🟢 Green Dot – This DOESN’T mean the packaging is recyclable! It indicates that the producer has contributed towards packaging recovery and recycling schemes.
🚮 Tidyman – Not actually a recycling symbol! It’s simply a reminder to dispose of your rubbish responsibly.

🌱 Our top tip: When in doubt, check what your local council accepts rather than relying on the symbol alone.

A few seconds of checking can help prevent recycling contamination and keep more materials in the recycling system. ♻️💚

📢Are you looking to make a difference to your community?

Picket Twenty Community Centre is a great place to start!

We are looking for passionate and dedicated people to join our team. 🩵

If you love meeting new people and contributing to a successful and fulfilled community, then this is the place for you!

We are looking for volunteers to help with the following areas:

🌟Helping to organise and run events
⭐️Helping to open and close for private hirers
🌟Running our free weekly baby and toddler group
⭐️Assisting with maintenance issues
🌟Garden upkeep
⭐️Running our youth group - The level up club twice a month
🌟Leaflet dropping
⭐️Bring new ideas and incentives to the table to help us improve

And so much more!

We have a wonderful team of very dedicated volunteers, but we are very few in number!

Unfortunately, without the help of our community, some events and essential services may not be able to continue.

WE NEED YOU! 🫵

Whether its an hour a week, the occasional weekend or on a regular basis, we really do appreciate any help you may be able to give.

It's Tuesday! That means we have the wonderful Andover Foodbank with us this morning 10am - 12pm. If you need a bit of support, pop in and say hello!

Saving Energy in the Office 💡
🌿 Small changes can make a big difference!

This Waste Less Wednesday, we're looking at simple ways we can all save energy in the office and create a greener workplace.

From switching off computers at the end of the day to unplugging chargers and printing less, every little action helps reduce energy waste, lower costs and protect our planet.

Here are a few easy habits to try:

💻 Turn off computers, monitors and printers when not in use
🔌 Unplug chargers once devices are fully charged
🌡️ Be mindful of heating and cooling by keeping doors and windows closed
🖨️ Print only when necessary and choose double-sided printing where possible
