Picket Twenty is a large development to the east of Andover, Hampshire with plans to expand to over 1500 homes in the coming years. The PTCA has been setup as a registered charity to advance education and provide recreation for Picket Twenty residents. At the heart the community is the new Community Centre, owned by Test Valley Borough Council and run by a team of volunteers who are mostly residen

ts. The Community Centre has a range of flexible spaces and is an ideal venue for classes, groups, meetings and parties. It is available to hire to Picket Twenty and the wider Andover community.

📢Hampshire County Council (HCC) have announced the launch of additional support for vulnerable residents across Hampshire through the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF).

The CRF is designed to provide assistance to low-income households who are experiencing a financial shock or are at risk of falling into crisis. This includes targeted support for residents whose primary source of heating is oil, recognising the particular challenges faced by these households.

Please share far and wide to ensure those who need support can be reached.

FRIDAY 19TH JUNE - KEYS IN CONCERT!
🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹

Next Friday sees our next Keys in concert performance at Picket Twenty Community Centre!
We will be joined by the fabulous Brett Wales.

Brett began playing at a very young age and soon displayed an uncanny ability to memorise melody lines; indeed, his ability to hear and reproduce melodies accurately is a hallmark of his music today.

He has played concerts in the USA, Germany, Holland and throughout the UK, delighting audiences wherever he performs with his unique style and sounds. Like one of his idols, Klaus Wunderlich, he has his own studio where he continues to work on new recordings and where he strives to produce the fantastic sounds that are so much appreciated by his fans.

🫖We still have spaces available for our Seniors afternoon tea! This is completely FREE to attend.

Socialising can become more difficult in our later years for many reasons. Our group aims to provide an opportunity to meet new people, make new friends and have brilliant conversations, maybe with a chuckle or 2 thrown in!

There is no judgement, just friendly faces, tea and most importantly, cake!

♻️It's not even Wednesday, but we wanted to share something we have just had delivered to the centre for you all! ♻️

❓Did you know that tens of thousands of litres of waste fat, cooking oil and grease are poured down sinks every year?

The hot fat, oil and grease cools and forms a mass which can then build up in our pipes.

You might notice it when you get a blockage in your sink but the worst case scenario is it can cause extremely unpleasant flooding inside a property.

As a result millions are spent every year unblocking pipes, maintaining and repairing the infrastructure.

That's where these handy little pots come in! These are called Gunk Pots! A reusable silicone container designed to hold cooled fats, oil and grease.
You could pop it in the fridge till it goes solid, then wipe out the pot and put it in the regular rubbish bin.
This will definitely help prevent any potential blockages!
