With a small grant from Test Valley Council, Hampshire CC and club funds we have been able to replace all of the old strip lights with energy efficient LED batons.
Wow what a difference it makes too.

Great fun today using a hot wire to shape the foam blocks into the beginnings of the cliff face. We also took the opportunity to start forming the stream which will flow into the sea.

We have reached a milestone with our N Gauge layout with a complete circuit completed. What a way to celebrate with Goldern Arrow and Pullman Set. Apologies for the usual club banter in the background.

Ballasting the new extension board is complete. Fine granite ballast, PVA diluted 50/50 with water. A few drops of washing up liquid were added to help break the surface tension. A fine mist of water over the ballast and then PVA mix carefully applied with a syringe or dropper. This will be left to dry before weathering starts to blend it all in with existing track.

We are on to stage three - landscaping and blending the scenery with the existing boards. The foam blocks are stuck down with Grab adhesive and left to cure. They will be shaped using a Hot Wire cutter. Over 30C in the clubroom this morning. Rail expansion joints seem to be working --so far

That's phase two completed on our O Gauge extension board - electrics complete and loco's running. now on to the ballasting !

Progress continues on the extension to our O Gauge layout, Collins Cove. We have now completed and tested the new scenic board and are able to recommence running sessions. Track weathering and ballasting are next on the list.
