Yesterday, Unity was proud to attend the Andover Jobs Fair, where we spoke with local residents about the wide range of volunteering opportunities available across Test Valley.

It was fantastic to see so much interest in volunteering as a pathway to building confidence, developing new skills, gaining experience, and making meaningful connections within the community. At Unity, we work closely with local charities, community groups, and organisations to help match volunteers with opportunities that suit their interests and availability.

Thank you to everyone who came to chat with us, and to the organisers for delivering such a positive and successful event.

Laura received her family National Trust Pass from Unity - The Travelling Pantry today.

The Travelling Pantry provides support with food, hygiene products, pet food in Lockerley, Kings Somborne and Stockbridge each week.

Tomorrow they will be in Lockerley.

We are deeply sorry to hear that the Andover Older People’s Forum has now closed. For many years, the Forum has played a vital role in supporting older residents across Andover—providing trusted information, a strong community voice, and opportunities for people to stay connected and informed.

On behalf of everyone at Unity, I would like to extend our sincere thanks and congratulations to all those involved, past and present, for the dedication and commitment they have shown. Their work has made a real and lasting difference to the lives of many older people in the town.

While it is always sad to see such an important initiative come to an end, the impact of the Forum’s work will continue to be felt, and we wish all those involved the very best for the future.

Last week the Travelling Pantry volunteers received their Test Valley Volunteer Star Award from Tracy Thomas - Pantry Co-ordinator and some of the pantry users. This award is a small recognition of the incredible support they provide to both the pantry and clients.
