🎤A little foodbank poem for the weekend...🎤

If you're doing your shopping and passing the shelf,
Could you pop in a little something to help?🛒

Chocolate and biscuits would brighten the day,
Tinned fruit and pasta sauce could come our way. 🍫🍪🍑🍝

Tinned meat meals we left with a few,
Chicken curry, a korma or maybe beef stew. 🥫🍗

We always need items from our core list as well,
But these are the products that we need to yell. ✅

So if you can spare an item or two,
Pop it in the collection box as you pass through.🙏

Or bring it along to the foodbank door,
Every donation helps us support a little bit more. 🫶

Thank you for helping local people when times are tough 💚

We're hiring! Join the Andover Foodbank team as our Warehouse Manager.

The role includes:

📦 Ensuring our warehouse operations run smoothly, maintaining a safe, well-organised environment.

🚚 Coordinating food collections and deliveries, managing stock, weighing, sorting and packing donations, with the support of our fantastic volunteer teams.

🥫 Building relationships with supermarkets, schools, churches, local organisations and community groups to encourage donations and support.

💚 Supporting volunteer activities, corporate volunteering days and representing Andover Foodbank at community events.

📋 Helping to ensure food safety, health and safety, stock control and warehouse processes are maintained to a high standard.

We're looking for someone who is proactive, organised and hands-on, with excellent people skills and a positive, can-do attitude. This is a varied role at the heart of our operation, reporting to and working alongside, Head of Andover Foodbank, working alongside volunteers, supporters and partners to help local people facing hardship.

What a lovely surprise yesterday morning!

Katie was genuinely touched to receive a Test Valley Volunteer Star Award on behalf of all the incredible volunteers at Andover Foodbank.

"I've been at the foodbank for just over a year now, and one thing became clear very quickly – the volunteers are everything. They are the beating heart of the organisation. They turn up in all weathers, give their time so generously, and bring kindness, humour and compassion to everything they do.

When I joined, I inherited something really special: a team of people who care deeply about helping others. Over the past year, they've become much more than volunteers. They've become friends, supporters, and in many ways, an extended family.

This award belongs to every single person who gives their time to help our community. Whether they're sorting donations, packing food parcels, driving deliveries, working in the office, welcoming and supporting clients, collecting from supermarkets or simply making someone feel seen and heard – they make a difference every day.

I feel incredibly lucky to work alongside such an amazing group of people. Thank you for everything you do. This recognition is thoroughly deserved."

Katie Vincent, Head of got a surprise this morning when Wendy Masterson, Deputy CEO of Unity presented a Test Valley Volunteer Star Award for all the volunteers at the Andover Foodbank.

This award recognises all of the hard work the volunteers give to this much needed organisation.

Players generously donated 255 items which weighed 123kg and Stannah Stairlifts are kindly matching each item with a donation of £1 🙏

A HUGE thank you & Happy 40th Birthday to Andrea Westley 🙏

Andrea is celebrating her 40th with a netball tournament. Players have been asked make a financial donation or donate an item.

Andrea works for Stannah Stairlifts and they are generously supporting the Foodbank by matching any financial donation and giving £1 for every item donated💚
