Tonight we had the lovely Tanya from Heartbeat come and talk to us about their exciting renovations at Heartbeat house and the wonderful 3d models they have made for the surgeons for when they have to operate on children's hearts. These are designed to specifications taken from images of the heart so that surgeons can see what the specific issues are ahead of the surgery, thereby limiting how long the children have to be under anaesthetic.

Over the years our Rotary club has done a number of metal detecting events and this year is our 16th annual charity rally

This one day event will be held on Saturday 12th September.

Our farmer has given us 70+ acres of cultivated land with some woodland. We did detect this area many years ago as part of a much larger weekend dig.

As ever all our proceeds will be given to deserving charities.
Hot food will be available, and as usual tea and coffee will be available free all day.

The cost will be £17.50 per person.

If you have attended our rallies before and you are on our mailing list, you will shortly receive an email invitation from Tony.

This week we were treated to an unusual but fascinating presentation by Tony Stead, a retired botanist, on Three Flower Festivals in One in Chiang Mia.
This is one of Thailands most beautiful annual events, celebrating the city’s cool-season flowers.
Tony showed us pictures of the stalls, a spectacular flower parade featuring floats covered in orchids, chrysanthemums, roses and other blooms.

Our Summer Fete is drawing nearer and we are delighted to have a number of charities taking part and hope our local community and beyond will come along to support them and us. One of the charities joining us will be Harmony Woods - Andover Trees, who we regularly support with their tree planting fortnight and more recently their wildflower planting.
Entry to the fete is free but each stall will have an activity and we are holding a book stall, raffle, splat the rat and teddy stall to raise funds for local charities so please do bring your family and some pennies and come and enjoy a fun afternoon
