Today, the KOTS family went up against a very strong Basingstoke League side, North Hants Athletics FC.
We faced them last year in what was a tough game, so we knew today was always going to be a big challenge — especially with North Hants looking sharp throughout pre-season.

For us, today was also about welcoming a few new lads into the KOTS family. With new faces comes a team still learning to gel, and with players who haven’t all played together before, we knew we might not have the same understanding and connection we’ve had in previous games.

But that’s what KOTS is all about. 💚

Mental health, friendship, belonging and giving people a place where they can turn up, be themselves and feel part of something.

The lads stepped onto that pitch, put everything into it and never stopped battling. And hearing the North Hants lads say afterwards that we gave them one of their better games so far shows just how much effort everyone put in.

It wasn’t about the result today. It was about showing up, supporting each other and proving that sometimes the biggest victory is simply getting out there and giving it your all. ⚽️💚

🏆 Man of the Match: Steve Ford

Steve battled from the first whistle to the last. One of the oldest players on the pitch, but you wouldn’t have known it — chasing every ball, tracking every player and giving absolutely everything until the final whistle.

Massive respect, Steve. 👏

A huge thank you to North Hants Athletics FC for the game and the respect shown throughout.
All the best for the new season, lads. 💚⚽️

KOTS — more than football. A family, a community and a reason to keep turning up. 💚

💚 HAPPY 3 YEARS OF KICK OUT THE STIGMA – ANDOVER! 💚

Three years ago, Kick Out The Stigma – Andover started with a simple goal: to bring people together, break down the stigma around mental health, and create a safe, supportive family within our community.

Three years on, we are incredibly proud of how far we have come. 🥹💚

⚽ 350+ men and women are now part of our growing family, and we continue to welcome anyone who wants to be involved.

🧠 24 people trained in Mental Health First Aid here in Andover, with that number continuing to rise thanks to our amazing charity The Elliot Project

🏆 We have competed in two Mental Health World Cups, travelling to incredible football grounds including Watford FC’s Vicarage Road, Everton FC’s Goodison Park and Millwall FC’s The Den.
This year, we were especially proud to take a women’s team to the event too — and together, our men’s and women’s teams raised one of the highest amounts for mental health charities at the competition. 💚

👟 We have continued supporting people across Andover who are in need, giving away hundreds of pairs of football boots and pieces of equipment to adults and children.

🏟️ We also played a part in helping get Enham Pavilion back open, alongside amazing local people and businesses who helped make it happen. It is now back open for local clubs and bringing football back to the village almost every weekend.

🏅 Our Chairman was honoured with a Pride of Andover Award — but the truth is, that award represents every single person who makes Kick Out The Stigma what it is. We were all awarded.

And that’s what makes this so special.

This isn’t just a group.
We are a family. 💚

To every player, volunteer, Mental Health First Aider, supporter, sponsor, local business, charity, family member and friend who has been part of our journey — thank you.

Here’s to another year of going bigger and better, creating opportunities, supporting more people, breaking down barriers and continuing to make a difference in our community.

Because when we stand together, we are stronger. 💚⚽

Happy 3rd Birthday, Kick Out The Stigma – Andover!

Here’s to the next chapter. 🥂💚

🎉 Another Mental Health First Aider Trained in Andover! 💚

We're proud to announce that another person has become Mental Health First Aid trained here in Andover after successfully completing a 2-day Mental Health First Aid course this week thanks to our chosen charity The Elliot Project

Every new Mental Health First Aider helps make our community stronger by having the skills and confidence to recognise when someone may be struggling, offer support, and guide them towards the right help.

If you've been thinking about becoming Mental Health First Aid trained, we'd love to hear from you.
Send us a message and let us know which upcoming course you'd like to join. Together, we can continue breaking the stigma and making Andover a more supportive place for everyone.

💚 One more person trained. One more person ready to make a difference.

While today's home fixture was taking place, another group of our lads made the journey to Ascot to compete in a 27-team, 6-a-side charity tournament in aid of Sands.

Days like these are about so much more than football. They're about coming together, supporting incredible causes, checking in on one another, and showing that no one has to face life's toughest moments alone. That's exactly what our club stands for.

The standard throughout the tournament was outstanding, with plenty of quality sides packed with talented players, so the lads knew they were in for a real test from the first whistle.

They couldn't have asked for a better start. Game after game, they showed determination, togetherness and heart, building an unbeaten run before finishing the group stage with a draw. That was enough to top the group and book their place in the knockout stages.

Unfortunately, football can be a cruel game. After waiting around for over an hour in the heat while their opponents had only just finished playing, the momentum faded, legs became heavy and the buzz that had carried them through the group stage began to disappear. Despite giving absolutely everything, two frustrating goals saw our lads bow out of the competition.

Results will always come and go, but the values this group showed today mean far more than any trophy. They represented the KOTS family with pride, looked after one another, never stopped battling and left everything out on the pitch against some outstanding opposition.

We're incredibly proud of every single one of them.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising such a fantastic event in support of Sands. Raising awareness, supporting mental health and reminding people that community matters is something we'll always be proud to stand behind.

Together, we are stronger. 💙

💙⚽ Match Day | KOTS vs Reading XL FC ⚽💙

This afternoon, some of our KOTS family took to the pitch against Reading XL FC at our home ground in Enham.

With the sun beating down and a rock-hard, dry pitch beneath their feet, both teams left everything out there. Every tackle, every run, every goal, and every word of encouragement showed what football is really about—coming together, supporting one another, and proving that no one has to face life's challenges alone.

At KOTS, football is about so much more than the result. It's about friendship, connection, and creating a safe space where conversations around mental health can happen naturally. Every time we step onto the pitch, we're reminding each other that it's okay to lean on your teammates, both in football and in life.

🌟 Player of the Match goes to Terry Selvey, who found the back of the net an incredible five times! An outstanding performance, showing quality, experience, and leading by example all afternoon.

A special mention also has to go to Gaz Kennedy, who showed exactly why he wears the captain's armband. He led from the middle and never stopped working for the team. It's just a shame all 10 of his shots ended up somewhere in the bushes! 🫣😂 Better luck next time!

A huge thank you to everyone at Reading XL FC. They battled until the final whistle, played the game in the right spirit, and were an absolute credit to themselves. It was a privilege to share the pitch with such a fantastic group of lads.

Together, we continue to show that football can change lives—one conversation, one match, and one teammate at a time. 💙

Finally, a massive thank you to our proud sponsor, Rachel's Driving School, for supporting KOTS and helping us continue our mission of raising awareness for mental health through football.
