⚽🏆 World Cup 2026 Sweepstake Update 🏆⚽

A huge thank you to everyone who has taken part – all 48 teams have now been sold!

The draw has now been completed by Danielle Cummins and Flo, with teams drawn in the order that they were purchased.

To ensure everything was fair and transparent, each draw was recorded, so if anyone has any questions or queries about the process, please don't hesitate to get in touch and we'll be happy to help.

PUBLIC MEETING

in Appleshaw Village Hall

The Walnut Tree Public House, Appleshaw
· The Walnut Tree is for sale on the open market, which means it will become a free house when sold.

· The sale is subject to the terms of the Community Right to Bid scheme which gives a community group until Tuesday, 16th June to inform TVBC they intend to be treated as a bidder, i.e. no financial commitment will be required at this stage. A group would then have until 5th November 2026 to put a bid together and submit it.

· We proved the need for the pub in the community last year through the Community Asset process.

· We are aware there is interest in the pub and, for obvious reasons, finding a single buyer who has the community at heart would be the best solution. In case no bid is forthcoming, the purpose of the meeting is to see if a community group could come together to inform TVBC they intend to be treated as a bidder.

Agree to form a group to raise funds to set up, for example, a community benefit society to buy the Walnut Tree.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Charity Race Night! 🐎

Thanks to your generosity, donations, sponsorships, and support on the night, we raised an incredible £1,542 for Naomi and Jack's.

We’re so grateful to everyone who attended, helped organise the event, donated, and cheered the horses us on throughout the evening.

💚 Thank You 💚

The Walnut Tree Events Committee would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Andrea Holder and her team of volunteers, who worked wonders organising and running their community spring lunch.

Not only was it a wonderful occasion that brought together people of all ages – young and mature alike – they also raised a phenomenal £76 for our chosen charity, Naomi House.

This amazing sum has been paid into the charity account, and could fully fund a dedicated activity session (such as crafts) for the children and young adults supported by Naomi House. There will also be enough left over to contribute towards additional nursing care or essential materials for those they care for.

Thank you to everyone involved for such a special event and such a meaningful contribution! 🤍
