Last half term, Triangle Class at Icknield School thoroughly enjoyed their topic, Good Food, Good Mood, exploring healthy eating through a range of fun and practical activities.
Pupils developed important food preparation skills, learning about hand washing, kitchen safety and how to prepare a variety of healthy snacks. They practised chopping, peeling, grating and tasting different fruits and vegetables to create delicious platters to enjoy together.
The class also focused on personal care skills such as brushing hair, cleaning teeth and washing faces, while PE sessions helped develop athletic skills including running, jumping and throwing.
Learning extended into the community with shopping trips to ASDA, where pupils explored the supermarket and practised making choices. In The World lessons, they role-played a fruit and vegetable stall, sampled foods from around the world and explored healthy treats.
Art was a particular highlight, with pupils creating colourful fruit and vegetable collages and digital artwork inspired by the work of Giuseppe Arcimboldo.
This half term, the class has already begun their new topic, Bonjour Monsieur, and have set off on a virtual journey to France. With French food, holiday adventures and plenty of sightseeing ahead, they are excited for another fantastic term of learning!✈️
