Every year one in four people will experience a mental health problem.

Tomorrow is World Mental Health Day and we’re shining a light on our local mental health charity Andover Mind

Andover Mind provides a wellbeing centre in Basingstoke, critical mental health and wellbeing support in Andover as well as other support across Hampshire.

Its services include wellbeing courses and groups, one-to-one counselling sessions, crisis services, Adult Autism and ADHD Community Hubs and volunteering opportunities.

Andover Mind’s focus is simple: supporting local people with their mental health, when they need it most, at the heart of the community.

💙 “15 years without you, 100km for you.”

This November, local resident Harrison Smith is taking on an incredible challenge in memory of his mum, who took her own life 15 years ago.

On Saturday 14 November, Harrison will attempt to run an extraordinary 100km in a single day, starting in Pangbourne and finishing at The Barley Mow in Oakley, Basingstoke.

He’s doing it to raise vital funds for Andover Mind, helping support people experiencing mental health difficulties and those reaching crisis point.

Speaking about his mum, Harrison said:

❤️ “Mum was the life and soul of any room. She could make people laugh, make people feel super comfortable, and just bring people together.”

He added: “Mental health doesn't always look the way we expect it to.”

Harrison is aiming to raise £2,500 and has already made fantastic progress towards that target.

He’s also inviting people to join him for the final 5km, 2km or 1km, helping him over the finish line after what will be an enormous physical and emotional challenge.

💚 MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS 💚

With it being Mental Health Awareness Month, we had the pleasure of attending a fantastic mental health workshop at Andover Mind.

A massive thank you to the team at Andover Mind for putting this together and giving up their time to help raise awareness, share knowledge, and remind people of the importance of looking after our mental health.

It's so important that we continue to have these conversations, break down the stigma, and make sure people know that support is out there when they need it.

At Kick Out The Stigma – Andover, we believe that mental health is just as important as physical health, and nobody should ever feel they have to face their struggles alone.

Together, we can make a difference, one conversation at a time. 💚

Solve a classic mystery and support Andover Mind 🎭

Mr. Flaherty's Private Theatricals is proud to be supporting Andover Mind through its upcoming production of Agatha Christie’s A Murder is Announced, taking place at the Central Studio, Basingstoke, from 12-14 November!

The company will be collecting donations in support of Andover Mind during the production, helping to raise funds for vital local mental health services.

Getting the chance to talk through your worries and problems with somebody can help you see things in a different light and help you find ways to help yourself 💙

Our counselling service is available to those 18 and over and we offer you 20 sessions of counselling at £25 per session.
