Cyngor Tref Rhdaman we are now holding an annual event to celebrate the Twrch Trwyth. You are sure of a very warm welcome.

Ammanford is the 3rd largest town in Carmarthenshire, and is one of the three service centres named in the County Development Plan, which highlights expansion for housing and infrastructure projects. It enjoys easy access to the M4, which makes it an ideal town for commuting to the nearby towns and cities of Carmarthen (20 min), Swansea (20 min) and Cardiff (50 min). The town has an excellent sele

ction of small friendly independent shops, with a few national chains also situated within the town and it’s outskirts. It has excellent schools, wonderful sports facilities, a beautiful park with tennis courts, library, churches, chapels, Fire and Ambulance services, and the Town Council. The town is situated near the edge of the Brecon Beacons, with it’s beautiful landscapes, and is a short drive (20 Min) from the wonderful beaches of the Gower, and Pembrey, as well as the many and great historical castles of the Princes of Wales. Ammanford has an association with the Twrch Trwyth, (the Wild Boar), as depicted in the Famous Welsh stories of the Mabinagion, which highlights King Arthur hunting for the boar through the Amman Valley. The town has taken the Wild Boar as it’s emblem for many generations, and it can be seen throughout the town in the crests and logos of the local associations. Please come and visit us to view for yourself the lovely surroundings and landscapes.
