We’re delighted to be attending the first-ever BHT Community Fest, taking place this Saturday at Stoke Mandeville Hospital for BHT colleagues, volunteers and their families.

There’ll be live music, entertainment, activities and food stalls showcasing flavours from around the world, so there’s plenty to enjoy.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a powerful reminder that early detection saves lives.

Each year, thousands of women across the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer. Thanks to earlier diagnosis and better access to screening, survival rates continue to improve, but there is still more to be done.

We are working to make breast screening more accessible through our Mobile Breast Screening Appeal. This initiative brings state-of-the-art screening technology directly to communities across Buckinghamshire, making it easier for women to attend appointments closer to home.

Early detection can make all the difference. By supporting this appeal, you’ll help us fund vital equipment that increases access to screening services, encourages more women to get checked, and enables earlier diagnosis of potential issues.

Looking for a fun and rewarding way to support your local NHS hospital charity? We’d love to hear from you!

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our events team, particularly people who are happy to get stuck in and help with some of the more active roles at our events.

This could include:

💪 Setting up and packing down events
📦 Lifting, carrying and moving items
🚗 Transporting equipment and fundraising materials
🎪 Helping things run smoothly behind the scenes
🎟️ Supporting our events and fundraising activities

You don’t need to commit to regular volunteering. We welcome people who can help on an ad-hoc basis, whether that’s once a month, a few times a year or whenever you have some spare time.
