📢 for all ensembles who rehearse on a Wednesday at Alva 📢
Tomorrow Wednesday 18th February, we have just been informed that there is an event on in the Academy at the sametime as the orchestra rehearsal.
When arriving for rehearsal please entry the school via the back of the building. Ensembles will also be leaving via at the back door at 4.30pm and 6pm.
Can all primary school age pupils please be collected by an adult.
Parents/carers please can you park outwith the school grounds as the school car park will be in use by people attending the Academys event.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Our family fun ceilidh will be in the Devonvale hall on Friday 30th of October 2026 at 7pm.
You do not need to be affiliated with hmfy to come along to this event, it is open to all.
Tickets need to be pre booked and cost £6 per person. Bookings can be made by contacting our treasurer via email at [email protected]

I want to wish this absolute super star of a violin pupil all my very best wishes for her new chapter, exciting travel plans and on gaining her place at university.
We had our last lesson today 😭
From fond memories of the wee 7 year old in her shorts and pigtails to the amazingly capable young woman she has become. Always a team player and a brilliant inspiration to the younger players that she mentored each week, we loved having you at orchestra.
I'm so proud of you E, reach for the stars, have your adventures and keep on playing 🌟 🎻

Happy New Year to all Hmfy pupils, parents/carers/families, parent volunteers, committee members and Clacks music instructors.

🎶 Hmfy orchestra rehearsals start back on Wednesday 21st January 🎶
This date will also be communicated to Hmfy pupils via their music instructor at their next lesson.

Pupil registration is between 3.30pm-3.45pm

Ensemble rehearsals times are:-
Junior Band 3.45pm-4.30pm
Andante Strings 3.45pm-4.30pm
Concert band 3.45pm-6pm
Presto Strings 3.45pm-6pm

Our tuckshop will be returning this term and will be from 4.30pm-4.45pm.

Alva Concert band and Alva strings there is a rehearsal for your Christmas concert this Wednesday, 10th Dec, 3.30pm-5pm in Alva 📢

📢 Also to all pupils from other schools who perform in the hmfy Concert Band and Presto Strings, you have been invited along to perform alongside Alva pupils at their Christmas Concert. If you wish to perform alongside them, please come along to the rehearsal this Wednesday, 10th Dec, 3.30pm-5pm in Alva 📢

📢The Alva Christmas concert will be held in the school on Monday 15th December, can any musicians performing, regardless of which school you are from, please turn up wearing your school uniform at 6pm for a tune up 📢

Just a quick reminder about details for tomorrow nights concert and also a bit of new info, can the senior flute ensemble and senior clarinet quintet please be at the hall for 5.15pm for a rehearsal.

🎄Uniform for pupils on the night is hmfy polo shirt along with school trousers/skirts.
🎄Doors will open to the public at 6pm.
🎄Tickets are £6 per adult and £3 per child, please bring cash only on the night, as unfortunately we cannot take card payments. 🎄We will also be holding a raffle at £1 per strip & also will be selling some tuckshop on the night, so please bring change just incase you would like a wee freddo 🍫 or packet of sweets 🍬
