Community Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund Awardees Announced🎉

We’re proud to share that community groups across Clackmannanshire have received vital support through the Scottish Government’s Community Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund.

As our Chief Officer Anthea Coulter says: “This fund demonstrates the difference that even small amounts of funding can make to support people before they reach a crisis, and therefore prevent costly interventions at a later stage.”

A total of 59 organisations across Clackmannanshire and Stirling will benefit, with projects tackling isolation, supporting mental wellbeing, and strengthening grassroots community action.

🚨 URGENT: Our community is at risk

Next Thursday, Clackmannanshire Council will vote on removing 20% discretionary rates relief for charities and sports clubs.

This means:
- Community centres could close
- Essential services for families, older people, and those with disabilities could disappear
- Jobs will be lost

We have ONE WEEK to fight this.

Alva Community Council

Alva Community Council needs new members.

There will be Community Council elections in August 2025.
Three current members are standing down.
Without new members we will not be able to continue.

Alva will lose access to funding for events e.g., our Funday, Christmas Fayre, micro grant funding which has supported Alva groups over the years, incl the Bear Hunt in Alva Glen, the Halloween event, & Christmas hampers with ADT all during covid 19.

Over the last few years Alva CC has received funding from EDF for Alva Christmas lights, benches on the cycle paths, and cycle repair stations.

We have supported Alva Development Trust, Alva Resilience Team, Alva in Bloom, OYCI, organized park and cemetery clean ups. We worked with Alva Glen Heritage Trust on the grow wild project with funding
from Sustrans.

All this will stop if Alva does not have a Community Council.
For information on how to join Alva Community Council email [email protected] or [email protected] after 6th August 2025
