This November, A Dream Across the Ocean, a musical inspired by the journeys, struggles, and hopes of the Windrush Generation will be staged at the Broadway Theatre, Catford from 7-8 November.

Friday 7 & Saturday 8 November 2025

First staged at the Ashcroft Theatre (2012) and Hackney Empire (2013) to sold-out audiences, the story now returns with a fresh cast and new creative energy.

Set in 1960s Britain, the musical follows Winston Morgan, who leaves his Caribbean home to build a life in London. Far from his family, he faces loneliness, discrimination, and change - until an unexpected friendship gives his journey new meaning.

With a soaring original score, unforgettable characters, and the rousing anthems “I Know You Can” & ‘Exchange’, this new British musical is a tribute to the power of dreams, the bonds of community, and the legacy we pass on.

The production will festure guest appearances from gospel artist Roger Samuels, the acclaimed Volney Morgan & New Ye and Bishop Shacklefoot.

You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. You’ll leave uplifted - reminded that the footsteps of the past can light the way forward

As we celebrate Black History Month, let’s reflect not only on the strength and resilience that have carried our communities forward but also on the importance of vulnerability, rest, softness and self-care.

Too often, we’ve been taught to “be strong,” to carry the load in silence. But true strength also means knowing when to ask for help. Seeking counselling isn’t a sign of weakness it’s an act of courage and self-respect.

Our ancestors paved the way for freedom and opportunity; we can continue their legacy by embracing emotional well-being and giving ourselves permission to heal.

If you’ve been thinking about reaching out for support, this is your reminder:
You deserve peace. You deserve rest. You deserve healing.

You are not alone.
You are not broken.
You are human and healing is your birthright. 💚

Cover Up Fashion Show is where modesty meets modern elegance. It’s more than just a runway event it’s designed to encourage and empower women of all ages to feel beautiful, confident, and proud of how they present themselves and that modesty is not a limitation, but a statement of class, elegance, sophistication, and glamour, this God-inspired event aims to reshape the narrative around modest fashion.

Our Purpose

The primary goal of the Cover Up Fashion Show is to raise awareness within churches, schools, and communities that modesty can be both powerful and stylish. We’re breaking down outdated perceptions that modest dressing is dull and showcasing how it can be bold, and expressive.

What to Expect

On the runway, our diverse group of models will demonstrate ‘modern modesty’ a fresh take on fashion that respects personal and spiritual values while embracing beauty, style, and individuality.

This event proudly welcomes and highlights women of all shapes, sizes, and ages from 12 to 60+ proving that confidence and grace transcend age and size. Whether petite or plus size, every woman deserves to feel seen, celebrated, and inspired.
